This past April was the first time I've ever been to Amsterdam; we (me and by girlfriend) booked our trip so the day after we arrived was 420. :D
I gotta do this every year. I've been to Christiania probably about 10 times before, but I'm scared to go back these days and feel a bit more of myself die when I see police patrolling its streets... Anyhow, my point here being that Amsterdam is truly an amazing place to be if you are a toker.
To me it is almost as if the access to the pot is irrelevant, and the more notable feature being the freedom and lack and oppression associated with it.
I live over in Sweden, one of the most drug-repressive societies on earth (probably the most in the west). Over here it's like the cops just have to suspect you may have been "high on narcotics" (which is what they call everything here) in the past week or two to question you. My girlfriend's sister's friend was actually taken into the police station because she was out late gassing her car and had a cold (she doesn't do anything like that.. most Swede's are uptight). Now in Denmark (or Christiania I should say) it's more like... the cops just don't want to see it. For example, at my last visit there, when the city was under constant 24/7 police occupation, we were situated in the outside cafe area where everyone else was who was smoking. The police knew what we were all doing, and just asked to see our hands so we didn't have hash in em. We were smoking right up until then, and my friend did have a few grams which he quickly hid. The cops knew it, and everyone of us knew it. They didn't care, and just moved on to the next table.
Now in Amsterdam it's a completely different feeling. The police simply do not care that you are smoking - even though it's technically still illegal. I remember smoking a nice big joint of White Widow on a bench outside the Old Church as a few police officers were standing less than 3 meters away talking about something. No fear! That's how it's supposed to be...
So anyhow, here is a collection of my pictures to Amsterdam this past April. I stayed 4 nights, and smoked about 30 joints and around 15 grams of really really good bud. :D :D :D

And here's one with just pot:

I bought mostly pot because hash is basically all I get to smoke in Sweden.
I cannot wait to go again.. I even think of booking a trip for cannabis cup this year! >_<
