View Full Version : Does this look ready to harvest?

I haven't got time or $ to buy a microscope. Could someone advise if this bud looks like it's ready to harvest? The tips of the previously milky white pistils are wilting and turning brown, but I can't see the trichs without a scope... If I chop the branches which have similar buds and hang them upside down in the dark, I guess the pistils will continue turning brown. I'm looking for a more heady high than a body slam buzz.

Plant smells nice and hempy and is a pure Jamaican Sativa strain - well, bag seed anyway!

Thanks all!

hi i am a new grower but i have been told on this forum that if you are going by the pistal then you should wait till a least 80 % of them should be brown. in saying that i just croped and one of my plant was about the same stage as yours but she got chopped anyways because i needed the space and the smoke turned out well but just not as strong or smell. hope this help and happy chonging.

Just lucky eye guess

Thanks for your replies guys. I thought it was probably a bit early, I'm just getting a bit concerned about these Oh so green monsters in my back yard amongst all the other dying and yellowing plants. I reckon the temps should hold above freezing for a couple of weeks, especially being in a large concrete jungle. Still gutted I topped one of them as it has lots of smaller buds than fewer phat ones, but then this is my first attempt and its been a good learning experience.

I had a sativa that went 16 week's 12/12 , and the trichomes were just starting to turn , chopped it in the end as it was getting redicilous .
Don't know you'r location ThriftyEddy , best to leave it as long as poss by the sound of it .

Thanks mate. Just gonna have to hang in there as long as possible, although heavy rain forecast this week. Guess that'll be a natural flushing, but fingers crossed bud rot stays away. Is it worth adding Molasses at this stage?

This is the sativa in the planter and looking well yellowed now. I'm pretty sure I haven't been overdoing the feeding so I hope it's just natural and not a nute overload, although it is a small planter.

Can anyone tell me roughly how long till harvest? 2-3 weeks maybe? I can always move this one inside, although there's nowhere it can get direct sunlight, so is it worth moving it?

Just gave them some molasses love today, so lets see if the buds bulk up a bit.

Cheers
