looking into trying auto's out for my next grow and wondering what strains people have tried and what their experiences with autos has been as ive heard good and bad things about growing them

I'm not going down the autos route again - at least not in soil under lights anyways. Maybe outdoors if it's a sunny summer, or maybe if i can nail this hydro lark. I had nothin but trouble with them and only medeocre smoke for my efforts. They were a shit to germinate, scuffing is essential if you ask me, and you need to be damn fast getting the males weeded out or you'll end up with a load of seeded weed. Also, if you do find a good plant, there's no opportunity to clone it. That's just my take on them autos, I won't be tempted by the claims of super quick smoke again. Don't believe the hype!

Auto's serve a good purpose, a lot of growers do not have the resources to grow 'regular' strains... height/space can be an issue, as can budget, lighting schedules, stealth, and even growing experience.

They definitely do not suit everyone, but some people love their simplicity.

Lowryder #2 is a fair strain. ;)

I grew low ryder out side 2 summers ago and was a good smoke considering i just left them to it outside from the middle of may onwards, They were grown in sum light compost in the garden. Easy as, indoor growing if ur space is very limited id go with autos but if u got space n a little bit more time id go for a regular strain, got so much more choice imo. even if u have a little space u can allways low stress train your plants to fit in ur grow space.

i now have 3 grows under my belt the first was auto ak from joint doctor i did 3 of them and they went well and i pulled 30 grams from them not bad for first grow and a pleasure to grow to. but my second grow was a auto white russian from lowlife seeds and what a fuck about that was from 5 seeds i got 3 male 1 that was just sick from the off and ended up being murder and 1 that made it all the way and gave me a half ounce:( so i thought to fuck with that and threw on a royal kush and because of limited space (my reason for trying autos) i decided to use some low stress training and to tell you the truth i will never try autos again. if its space is the issue low stress train is the way you wont be dissaponted. hope this helps and good luck:smokie:

ps here's a photo of the auto ak from joint doctor if autos are the way for you this is the one i recommend.

good advice guys cheers, the main reason i wasnted to try autos was the quick turn around. i have recently heard of growing 12/12 from the start which quickens things up but im not sure by how much as surley as your not putting them under 24 to start they take twice as long when they are seedlings?? don't really know a lot about it but by the sounds of it autos are not the way to go

the best one I found is iranian Short Season. Very potent and respectable yield.

try royal queen seeds "royal automatics" 30-40 g per plant is very possible indoors under 400w hps in coco, fed as a normal plant finished bang on 8 weeks and showed sex in 3. 10 of 10 germd and were female, easy as pie to grow :) forgot to mention: low odour during grow, slightly better than mediochre smoke

here's a shot of Iranian Short Season. Averages about 100 grams per plant dry and very potent

These are my m8s Iraninan autoflowers indoors in a crusty bucket system. Theres 6" between the wires so the plants are just a little bit over 24 " tall. we figure there might be 8 or more ounces on each of these.

Can any 1 tell me what sort of grow space I need. I want to grow 2 auto's but the space between my 200 watt red cfl and floor of my cupbord is just under 19"?
I'm guessing oxy pots are out of the question?
