Hello all this is my frist grow diarie on here, wish me luck!


Kit I will be using

Tent/Darkroom DR60 by Secret Jardin - 80CMX80CMX160CM

Lights/Powerplant Envirogrow 250w Blue Spectrum 6400k for Veg, and another one but a 150w Red Spectrum 2700k for flowring

Pots/Sankey Pot Pack Terracotta (W) 80 x (L) 80mm, x3 13x13x13 Square Teku-Tainer pots, x1 19 CM Small Round Pot, x1 7.5L Round Pot, x1 23CM Flower Pot 9" Terracotta (20) by Sankey, Sankey Saucer Pack Terracotta (W) 90 x (L) 90mm, x1 Sankey 19CM Saucer for 7" to 8" pots, x1 24CM saucer for 9" & 12" pots

Medium/Peat Pellets, John Innes Seed Compost 25 Litres, BioBizz AllMix Soil 25L

Well I did not pay for the tent a friend of mine has just lefted it with me, an he said just sort him out a bit when its done.

only thing that ive payed for is;

150w cfl red,
all mix soil,
ph tester,
pots,
prop.

I've spent about 40 odd quid ;)

the rest is my mates, but like I said above he just wants a little bit when its done.


I will keep you updated on the AK, its the second day now hopefully it pops out in the next two days ;)

I am planning on going 12/12 with these three I have, can I use both lights? alot cheaper to run aswell imo thats another reason I want to go 12/12, an also get buds quicker ;)

I got the Blue 250w on now @ 12/12, but its not used to its cycle yet.
So was wondering if I can stick the Red 150w on to @ 12/12 then its getting dualspectrum @ 12/12, was thinking of poting AK47 & unknown #2 into those square pots I got!

Three plants @ 12/12 under 400w of light in dualspectrum, how much am I looking? I will repot when needed also, how would I know when it needs repoting? when roots start to come out the drainage holes :\

Shell I just put my Peat Pellets in the pot? or shell I get the seed out an put in soil?

Also I only have All Mix soil by BioBizz, will it be ok? I have no money to spend on anything else to be honest mate.. so just wonna know if I can just pot straight into allmix, my mate did it once an it was fine! I was told it if to strong for seedlings. But hey im going 12/12 surly there going to need it?

Cheers mate, thinking of getting some rollers for my lights so its easy to raise an drop them :)

But at the moment I will use boxes of some sort an raise it that way, because using string at the moment :( dont wonna mess about now.

Seeds have been poted, now have three pots in my tent, no room left :(
Both lights are on, just going to raise the pots now!

Got one seedling close to my Red CFL, and other two unsprouted ones are under the Blue CFL! Is this ok? plus are my temps & rh ok to?

Yeah I will be getting this done ASAP, I have problems with my bars at the top to be honest mate, last time I did my Blueberry plant, I went to chop her an the bars just droped an feckin droped on my plant man, the light was cought tho by me an a friend, so no damage was done luckly. But it was getting choped anyway so didnt really matter, but man you shoulda seen me, I was shitting it lol!!! (touch wood it dont happen again) well untill I get some chain or easy rollers!

little update I now have three seeds from a friend as promised;

Orignial Misty by Homegrown Fanstaseeds - 55,00euro for 10seeds

Will germ them when I know the bagseeds an ak47 are Fems :)

Update AK47 Seed was a dud one. aw well, it was really light green seed anyway, not ment to be good them. but unknown 1 and 2 are doing well, unknown 1 has been repoted in to a round pot.. other one remains in its first pot, the head is about to pop up, i brushed a bit of soil away an seen her head :) so not long for that one now.

Will be germinating some mistys hopefully soon..

Update Info

Ok heres the current two unknowns, unknown #1 is doing really well, very fast growth.
As for unknown #2 head has just poped out this is the one that has been done 12/12 from seed other one is 12/12 to but was put on 1 week down the line when its head poped out :D

I have noticed aswell with unknown #2 that its stem is pretty thick an with chunky little leafs. I'm going to raise that towards to light more, bit far away from it don't wan't it growing like string as born2toke says :)

Ok guys just gone ahead and poted a Original Misty by Homegrown Fantaseeds into a 7lt (round pot) with All Mix BioBizz Soil!

Will be going 12/12 with this one also, so currently there is;

Unknown #1 Planted @ 07/01/10
Unknown #2 Planted @ 08/01/10
Original Misty by Homegrown Fanta - 100% Fem/Indica 8-9wks flowering. Planted @ 20/01/10

I have done a little adjustment an raised the pots higher towards the lights to stop it streching as greenfingered said :)

Update Info - Day 17

Hello all, my little babies are doing well. As for Unknown #1, she wilts off to the side, dunno if this is because of the light or lack of fan blowing on it.. but it looks healthy as, nice light green leaves - I rubed one leaf before and it smelled like BlueBerrys :O hope its blues lol. As for Unknown #2 doing well again, keeping stright, nice thick dark green leaves. Finally the Original Misty has not been born yet, still awaiting for her head to pop up, but will keep you updated on that :)


I will be getting some easy rollers for my lights soon an some more pots, and few other bits-n-bobs!

I have put a cocktale stick in Unknown #1 to keep it straight, and also I have wired up some wire to my PC fan so I could put it blowing towards the leaves of the plants. As for Unknown #2 shes doing well with out sticks.
Misty still remains under soil, still no sigh of a head :(

As for the lights I have never had a problem with, since there Powerplant branded they have lots of life in them!

Thank you dude. As for the misty, still remaining in its pot.. no sign of it :( I think I stuck it to far down to be honest, will it still come up if I've done that?

Heres a little Update

I have just gone an gently dug in to the soil and found the misty laying there flat out! :(
I have noticed its root has snapped in half, I have the top half of its head, the leaves look yellowy, going to just stick it in top of the soil.. not much root on it but lets see what happens! shame really.

I noticed a little but of rootage when I found the mistys head, pulled that out an it was just the rest of the root, pretty long to.

Unknown #1 is looking very good, very green and lots of leaves, also has its first two branches.
As for Unknown #2 looks good, has new leaves and doing very well.
The Misty sadly snaped in half when germinating, currently germinating another seed.. Planted @ 29/01/10, will keep you all updated on that.

Quick Update Info

It's 4 Days now since the Misty was put into her Peat Pellet, and to day she was born! shell has cracked and she is rising up niclely, not long to those little babie leaves show, an shell comes off then I can put her under the light :party:

Quick Update Info - Day 27

Hi guys hope all is well. Here is a little update on Unknown #1 & Unknown #2. #1 seems to have pH problem, must fix it asap, as for #2 seems ok, no pH problem here, just the leaves are lanky an droping down, see how it picks up should be ok. Ohter then that everythings cool, got both lights running to, and my fan blowing nicly on plants.

I am just worried about pests as there little feckers, thats my main problem really.. just have to invest in a filter because I get dust at times in me tent.

Also do I need fresh alot of fresh air? do I have to leave the intake/outside fan on all times? (24/7) an leave blower fan :\

If so I must get a converter thing for my PC fans, because think PC needs a rest lol.

Doh! sorry GF! A tip that you probably know this already but on my intake iv got a pair of my girlfriends tights iv cut up to help filter any shit getting sucked up including any little bugs (i cut the crotch part of the tights the smell will kill any little fuckers instantly:D) also someone said to put a bowl of water below your intake so any little buggers that slip through go straight into the water

Update Info - Day 31

Hello all how you are all well. I have repoted the Unknown #1 into a round 7.5L pot, took it out the pot and it had nice root bound shame how I didn't get a picture of it before I poted it but I didn't want it exposed to light so potted asap :) Anyway its poted now going give her a good watering, listen to ganja famer by marlon asher :p God I love gardening with this track.

As for Unknown #2 doing well I might repot that one to in to the old Unknown #1 pot. Anyway looks really good coming along nciely, can't wat till its sex shows wont be long now.

OM known as Original Misy is doing ok just got her under the light at the minute shell still remains at the top, I frist little leaves have not opened up as yet, but I can see very small real leaves in there to its weird :laugh:

Yeah lol top tune ! And yeah as for the helmet it is still on her lmao, never had this before.. there are two real leaves, but other ones are not open :/ It's weird it should be the first leaves then the real ones, its other way round lol.

Hi guy's, just had to repot from my 7.5lt pot to a 15lt one.

Only problem is I ran out of soil and had to get Unknown #2 and take the soil from its pot. So I now have a Unknown strain sat in a tesco bag lol!

I am going to give it a friend, or maybe go plant it some where.
It's not showed it flowers anyway, plus I have a Misty on the go to!

I will be buying some new soil soon and new pots.

lol GF i seen your thread before asking if its okay to do this but i wasnt to sure so didnt answer. I did the same thing the other day when potting up, i had my 10 wws going from little 5" pots probably 1/2ltr each to 13ltr buckets so i went to my grow shop and bought a 50ltr sack.....you do the mathes.......DOH!

Your plant should be loving it in that 15ltr pot mate, iv got my cheese in 15ltr and 2ltr of water every 3 days seems to be spot on for them but saying that there bushy feckers and drink quite a bit......look forward to sunday for your pics mate!

Update Info - Day 38

Hello all hope all is well.

Unknown #1 & Original Misty are doing well, got the Unknwon #1 sat in a 15lt pot, leaves are looking good, just got slight yellow tips :/

I have lots of pistils shooting up, and my branches are shooting up towards the light nicely!
I had to give Unknown #2 to a friend, he will take care of it, lets hope it dose not turn male on him lol, well its 37 days from seed a day younger then Unknown #1 and it was very small with no pre-flowers!! It can't be male surly with it taking that long.


Original Misty Is looking sweet, she now has two sets of real leaves, but the others have not opened up, plus she still has her helmet on lol, I don't get it how can the real set of leaves show before the ones what show first?? Aw well its alive and growing thats the main thing :)

Hi guys just a little update on my grow, what I have done is tyed my plant down to stop it growing to tall, I have used a YoYo for this method and to be honest it has worked well, shes now back under the light and I have just given her some Bio-Grow & Bio-Bloom mix today to so lets see what happens in a few days time :)

I have a problem with my roots coming out my pot also, I only transplanted the other day from a 7.5lt pot to a 15lt! and roots are starting to come out the side drainage holes again :( What can I do to stop this ? instead of transplanting again because I don't wan't to put her into stress mode and make it hermie on me.


Any help would be great, cheers :toke:

I think I might just put some Soil and ClayPebbles on a tray with plant sitting in it.

Can I go half hydropoinic? stick the 15lt pot in a hempy bucket maybe? an fill it with perlite with drainage :) Think that might solve my problem, an put me at peace of mind.

Hello all, my plant is doing well nice and green I have tied down some more branches using my YoYo's... I give it a good feed yesterday also.
as for the Misty doing well, it now has real leaves and is going to get repoted later on today. Other then that everything is going sweet! :)

You don't have to plug it in, the wire is just a temp sensor.
I just wan't one where I can have one in the garden and one out of it telling me the same temps as in the garden wirelessly :)

Sunday Update - Day 52

Hi guy's as said above LST has now been stoped, she is starting to straighting out now :)

shes doing well lots of flowers are starting to show on the main stem and all branches, only problem is my cam is not good at getting focosed shots will be getting a new one soon. I am also planning on putting a Webcam in my tent watching & recording 24/7 untill the end of its life, and once it has finished I will be editing the video by speeding it up and cutting out me going in there to do its watering and feeds + turning pot around etc. So when it plays back it will be a fast paced growth video lol (FPG) instead of FPS haha.. should be good for you guys to watch anyway.

Right here are some pictures, I have used one or two yoyo's to pull the stem the other way back so it keeps straight going towards the light :)

[edit]: is my plant a Indica or Sativa? im confused lol, just wan't to know as it is a bagseed.. just wonna know the flowering period of the plant so I can ruffly guess when its done and ready.. am going to get a macro eye peice soon to get close up's to keep a look out on pests, and just to look at the glands really :p

I'd say it looks like a 50/50 indi/sat hybrid - the new leaves always look kinda skinny and sativa-ish when the plant's doing well like yours is :) .
The lower/more mature canopy leaves I notice are broader... look like 50/50 or not pure sativa anyway.

Sunday Update - Day 59 from seed

Pest - Fungus Gnats

Hi all hope all is well.

I have a problem with my plant it has Fungus Gnats I noticed 2 days ago a little fly, but fast moving preditor.. with transparent multi-colored wings.
So I started to panic, getting to the stage where I wanted to chop her an get rid. Then I just relised that theres not that many about.. most of em I have seen prolly say 4-5 up to now have stuck to that yellow paper I got in there, I also put some Tin Foil on the top of the medium to stop the little feckers getting out for mean while. Cut a few bottom leaves off today they were brown and some had white looking marks, also some little ones that were yellow, they just come off dead easy when I pulled on them.. hmm shows how weak and dead they are, I know they say to leave leafs on the plant as they are there for a reason - I just got rid not taking any chances as they could have fungus or anything. I don't think its the Gnats as I heard they live in the Soil and eat at the root ball. What else could it be with the leaves? will the Fungus Gnats just be causing the leaves to be in a bad way?

As for tomorrow I going to try an get some Neem Oil, some Gnatrol, Sand for the top of the Soil Medium, so it cuts the little feckers as they come up from soil.. gonna get more Yellow Sticky Card I will also try get some other good treatment salutions.

Best bet is to just drop a layer of sand about an inch thick over the top of the soil to prevent larvae from escaping and to prevent eggs from being laid into the soil.

Alternatively - just hang up a dichlorvos strip.

Hi guys heres a Sunday update.


As you know I had Fungus Gnats that accord 10 Days Ago I have not seen any flying around my plant or hanging around the Soil Medium.

The plant seems to be in a bad way, as you can see in the photo's lastweek she was looking good.. but now she is in a bad way I dont know what it is. I was told it is overwatered/underwatered!

Her life cycle..
66 Days from Seed..
5 Weeks 1 Day into Flowering..

The plant gets nutes now and then, but mostly water. When I do give her nutes I fill a 1.5lt bottle up with water stood for 48hrs, flick the side of the bottle to get rid of the air bubbles then I drop 2ml of Bio-Grow and 4ml of Bio-Bloom leave to set for ten minutes then shake and leave for another five minutes. I then pH test it and it comes back @ 6.5 (Yellowy Green Color on the Chart).

I then water the plant, but I let it dry out between waterings!! - Temps sit around 20s, rH of 40s 50s lights on, lights off is 17s, rH of 30s, 40s, ruff guess anyway for the lights off as I can't go in whilest it is in photoperiod.


My bottom leaves are yellow/burnt brown, cripspy, some have brown dots, others are same but curling under/in and upwards, top ones have yellow/brown tips that droop down at the edges a little.

The plant has a little PC fan blowing on leaves, intake and outtake are big pc fans, window open lights on and closed lights off - Could this be casuing it? I sleep in the same room with the plant by the way and also smoke now and then.

Its called 'Spray Safe by Canadian Express' and is sold in the UK, Greens hold it in stock and I spray all my plants at 2 weeks old and cover them in this stuff and it coats the leaves and stems and works a treat I have never had a bug or virus yet with it.

May work for you and the good thing is its quite cheap and recommended by growers I know and thats quite a few and they all use it. Comes in a blue bottle with orange sunflower label and is great.

Well I had Fungus Gnats, I think they are eating away at the roots and this is why its casuing the leaves to die.

I must get something to get rid of them, that spray sounds good might have get me a bottle!
Shame how its got like this within a week, its gotta be the Fungus Gnats munching away at the root system.

If your plants are small enough why don't you get the smallest and try breaking the earth away from the roots and see if you can expose them and spray them that way...? Just a thought, if it works your a winner if not then you have lost nothing because your losing them anyway.

I spray all my plants at 2 weeks and then never have to worry about them again to be honest, also what are you feeding your plants and how often to get fungus over the roots...? Perhaps you should slow down on watering and allow the compost or earth to dry out too. I am just trying to give ideas as what you may be able to do as I have never had any probs like this before so don't know how to irradicate this problem.

Hi Wrams thanks so much for that you are a great help to me.. I just went downstiars and got some Cinnamon Ground but its dated 2007 lol but what the hell I don't think it will matter, but I have sprinkled it over the top of my soil medium so lets hope it kills the food, then hopefully kills the gnats/larve.

The thing is when I woke up this morning and looked at the plant, some of the bottom leaves are very brown and dying off.. I noticed when looking at the tips of these dead leaves that there was fungus looking type texture on the leave, but cripsy and burnt - Also I noticed the leaves just come off once pulled on very gently, found one little leave at the bottom of the plant resting on the soil medium.

How can I now stop my leaves from going like this guys? is it due to these gnats/larve eating away at the roots and making my plant die like this.

Well I don't know if it's a fungus gnat problem you have but here's what you do. Cut all dead and rotting leaves from the plant as the gnats love rotting organic matter. They only live about a 1\4 inch from the top so pull your plant out of the pot and check to make sure your roots are in good condition. Take off the top 1-2 inches of soil and replace it with new stuff. Then get yourself a potato and cut it into 2 inch squares and place them on top of your soil, check them after two days if you have gnats they would have burrowed into the pieces of potato. Throw the pieces out or else your house will stink, if you see no evidence of gnats then your good. Keep a cup of fruit juice near the plant, which will attract adults that will drown in liquid. Make sure that the soil you will be using to replace the top couple of inches is not contaminated with gnats either, if your not sure then use 2 inches of sand on top to replace the soil .

Well if you have fungus gnats your plant should survive they usually end up being a bigger threat to seedlings or young plants.

Thanks mate I will give that ago, but ill use the sand method as I don't trust any Soil anymore.
I have removed all the leaves like you said, the top ones have now curled upwards towards the light since I give it some nutes yesterday seems to have looked up anyway, but the comtamed leaves have been removed and destroyed.

Now all I need to do is get some spuds as you said, then a cup of fruitjuice :)

Hey GanjaFarmer when I said use cinnamon I meant make a cup of cinnamon like cinnamon tea and allow it to cool and then poor it into your soil so it kills the lavae then get yourself some sticky fly paper and hang that around your plant so all gnats get caught up and die. The cinnamon will NOT hurt your plants and will NOT hurt you when you smoke it eventaully. Make sure you make plenty and add it when its cool enough to water ok but with cinnamon as this kills the lavae. Or there are other chemicals but not sure if they would ruin your smoke so cinnamon tea/water would be my choice first. ;)

I'm going to reiterate on breaking the reproductive cycle as opposed to any sort of molecular warfare. If you can get sand in the bottom two inches and top inch of soil, you will stop their ability to reproduce, as the larvae will eventually turn to flies and be unable to escape, thus dying and fertilizing your plants. it just takes time.

As for the neem-oil mate,

Neem oil is a vegetable oil pressed from the fruits and seeds of neem (Azadirachta indica), an evergreen tree which is endemic to the Indian subcontinent and has been introduced to many other areas in the tropics. It is perhaps the most important of the commercially available products of neem for organic farming and medicines.

6 Weeks 1 Day into Flowering
4 Days since treated with Cinnamon Tea


I wartered her today as her leaves are all droopy an droping... give her a nice drink - It come right out the bottom fast drainage if you ask me, I looked in the tray for bugs etc, and never found any.. just bits of soil an warter!

I now have a 250w Blue Spectrum CFL as a side light, hopefully this will help her grow more faster.
I have noticed my leaves are not going brown anymore, just a few yellowy ones.

I just noticed that I have stickyness on my leaves around the top of the buds, well flowers.
I got my finger tips and rubed them, and it STINKS of CHEEESE.. dose this mean it will be a Cheese strain? I've never had Cheese and got seeds from it I don't think.

If it dose turn out to be Cheese im larfing lol ;)

I give her a feed yesterday of BioBizz Grow and BioBizz Bloom,

Doses

3ml of Grow, 6ml of Bloom in a 2LT Bottle of Evian Warter and give it the plant @ a pH of 6.5

Calcium 78mg/liter
Magnesium 24 mg/L
Sodium 5 mg/L
Potassium 1mg/L
Bicarbonates 357 mg/L
Sulphates 10 mg/L

Thanks man, yeah shes lost alot of leaves, shame really if you look before the Gnats started eating the plant was really good, and was bushy! but now shes naked :(

Now I have a big problem, I just got in from work now and looked at the plant, her leaves are droopy an are down... thoght to my self, hmm how when I give it food yesterday.
I checked the Soil medium to see if it was dry an its fine, noticed a round thing.. and thoght hmm is that a seed? huh wtf?

So I grabed it, an looked at it an was like hmm thats no seed - so I sqeezed it.
POP - spalsh! all this custud looking shit come out an spalterd on the side of the tent, an all over me fingers.
Is that a Spidermite Egg? someone help, it was just at the top of the Soil :(

Well guys as you know ive had problems with my baby, so I have decided to give it the chop.

I just got in and looked it her an all the leaves are drooping, soil is moist and to be honest I just think the bastards are eating her away slowly!

I just give up guys, what do you think I should do?

If only I wen't HPS id of had bud by now, plus the strain is bagseed so I can see bad genectics.


For my next grow I am going Hydroponic with a 250w HPS Aircooled, or 150w non-Aircooled.

I know it will stress her out but you never know it may solve your problems, or do what Burnz suggested and use some sort of oil/butter. Are the Fungus Gnats gone or are they still there..? Reason I ask is because I don't know whats eating your baby.

I would not advise anyone ever to chop there plants because of illness and always advise trying different things. If it was me I would remove her from soil, clean root system and plant her with a stick into an Hempy Bucket and see what happens, if she dies then you have not lost out by doing this because shes dying anyway. Removing her would stress her out but for how long...? A week or 2..? Once shes picked up she may be ok.

Anyway not sure if my advise is any good but thats my idea :) I would not give up without a fight :kill:

Yup I agree with Burnz, yeah budrots nasty.. Id hope to see a nice recovery to mate, and yeah next grow will be better as I will be going 250w HPS aircooled in hydro system and some decent genectics.

Most of my pistals are brown to but mine is still one or two or maybe three weeks away. HaHa

Do you not have a scope ? That's what I use when I see most of the thrichomes turn amber then I will chop it.

Before I had my scope I used to just chop them when all the pistals were brown, but I would also let it flower for a minimum of 8 weeks.

Yes juicy fruit is good tastes kind of like the gum, not really strong but a nice daytime smoke.

It may be sober as a judge there, but here my friend, it's sober as a baby, or if you from the east coast it's sober as a goat. LOL ( don't ask ) :D

Thanks everyone, yeah it's a nice little smoke smells like blue cheese alot of my friends say, I think it will be better once I have cured it, I am using one of those "Tightvac Jars" so should be nice once done, I got around 20 grams (wet) its drying and shrinking as we speak and getting less weight \o/ but nicer and smellier every time :bong: Not bad for second grow, the third one should be better yeild and smoke as I will be getting a better setup and genetics in there :rock:
