12/12 help advice im dumb

so can 12/12 be done from soon as my seeds have split and have been planted?? (as long as they take to it) im gettin a bit confused as some people are saying when did your seedlings goto 12/12? do they have to be 18/6 for a week or so first? thanks for any help:D

i put mine on 12/12 straight from the off to keep them short - doesnt always work out like that tough.

yea mate as bergkamp said, sometimes they just go crazy anyways,but theres more of a chance of keepin em small on 12/12
