I am starting some white widow and malawi gold seedlings off which I obtained from a friend. They have been germinated in miracle grow soil and are a bit stretched due to the position of his particular grow light. A couple are looking pretty dinky but they were in that state when I got them, I have rooting powder with iba but i do not know if I can use this on already germinated seedlings in any beneficial way.
I have attached some pictures of my babies below in a zip archive. You can view them here

I have three florescent bulbs
the specifications for them are:

1. 150w cool white cfl 4100k 2600lumens
2. 25" warm white florescent 3450k 725 lumens
3. 35w (2 year old bulb, specifications N/A)

Any help and suggestions would be appreciated
I am going to be investing in a new setup soon

Those are some good strains your growing :D Do you know what breeder there from ?

Well first off I would start by getting them out of the miracle grow soil that shit is no good for them. Re-pot them and bury the stems about one inch from the first set of leaves .

What type of light is that in that lamp you got there ?

Oh and when you say 150 watt cfl do you mean 23-26 watt 150 watt equivalent ?

I am pretty sure my friend bought the seeds online but I am not too sure what source.
I actually spoke with him last night and forgot to mention there is also a sliver haze strain
alongside the white widow and Malawi gold. I am exited to grow the Malawi gold
From what I know it comes from Malawi and is one of Africa's finest sativas
I watched an episode of strain hunters where they went to go visit the farmers who cultivate it.
I am going to transplant them out of that soil immediately any suggestions on something good I could get online
or preferably local at home depot/walmat ? the lamp light is a compact florescent,
I believe the 150w cool white cfl in the lamp is the 40watt equivalent
and the 25" is a 34 watt bulb
I also have a blue 25 aquarium bulb which I have yet to turn on seeing as I am not to sure if it will be useful or not. Also
I have some new cuttings I have recently added, they have been dipped in cloning powder and kept in low light for 3 days, they are looking kinda sad so I figured I give them a shot with more light.

Holy you must not be from the UK because you have a Wal-Mart and Home-Depot ? Well I like using scotts multi purpose soil now ( I use to use Pro-Mix ) but when I re-potted I ran out so I bought some cheap multi purpose potting soil from the dollar store and mixed it with the rest of the scotts I had left. Get scotts if you can if not just buy wal-mart brand multi purpose potting soil and mix it with 20% perlite for drainage.

Your going to have to invest in some more lighting, you have 7 plants in there now witch was already to many for the amount of light you have and now you have added cuttings. I'm growing 2 plants and have 4 x 42 watt bulbs if I could have fit more I would have .

I don't know how big your grow room is but those plants especially the Silver Haze and Malawi Gold are going to get big.

That blue bulb is only good if you plan on keeping a lizard in there. It's worthless to your plants :(

The UK? Naww bud I definetly would love to go there
I'm from Canada. I really appreciate the input I am going to be transplanting them out of that soil and getting a 1000w MH in 3 weeks
then transporting them to a larger grow room, right now I have some cuttings that have been in a propagation dome for the past 5 days and have seemed fine but today after noticing them looking flimsy I transplanted them to soil pots figuring they needed more light and after about 2 hours being in the grow room they are looking pretty dead, I am not too sure what to do, maybe put them back or water them I am feeling pretty distressed I think I am going to step out for a moment :bong:

here are the before pictures

Ya I'm from Canada too I figured you were from here or the U.S when you mentioned Wal-Mart and Home Depot.

Anyways I can't see your pics your links don't work.

Also that 1000 watt MH is good for vegging but not so great for flowering your better off using a 1000 watt HPS for the whole grow. You can also get lights that are compatible with both MH bulbs and an HPS bulbs so you can switch them from MH in veg to HPS in flower using the same ballast.

hey that's all good man, I was planning on getting a 1000w hps as well in about a month

In order to see the pictures you have to fix the link since I broke it at the .net

or you can try going here

I am off to walmart now to get some new soil and ph tester right now

Not wishing to sound rude but you need a lot more light than you have. The lights that you do have move them to within a couple of cm of your plants.

you're not sounding rude at all. In fact, I have gone and added 2 more 40watt cfls to my setup and I am thinking about adding 2 more if that's not enough

I went out and purchased garden safe all purpose potting mix

I have added a large 5 gallon bucket of water to increase humidity seeing as the level is sitting around 50%
and the temperature is about 70-80
there are mild brown spots on the leaves of my largest plant
it seems like it might be a potassium deficiency. I am not to sure what the problem is but I am going to get a ph tester for the soil
before any more damage is done.
If anyone can provide me any information about those spots I would really appreciate it.

also forgot to mention I have a fan circulating air around and that I re potted and buried the stems about an inch from the first set of leaves.
I was unsure if this soil has adequate drainage so I was reluctant to add perlite. I just watered them with cold from the tap, distilled, then warmed, aerated, left in 24hr open container water with no nutrients
to ensure chlorine free water intake. seems like overkill I know but I am trying to form good mj care habits.
I love my babies
