hi all,had a quick look but found nothing relating to this particularly but apologies if it has been discussed before...
could i freeze a cutting, and i mean deep freeze for a number of weeks, and then grow it without any trouble?
has anyone tried this?
should i root the cutting first, before i freeze it?
would it be best frozen in a block of ice instead of just being placed loose in the freezer where temperatures could vary...?
any tips, suggestions or thoughts on this matter are appreciated as it is something i will be doing for myself in the next few weeks...
sound.

If you search about I think wert or grub kept cuttings in the fridge or freezer for a number of weeks then grew them without problems.
i do not think it would be possible to freeze then defrost them intact ,the cell walls would be damaged.unless someone has done it....?
from my limited knowledge of freezing things i believe that it wouldnt work. the water in the plants cells would freeze and crystalise causing the cells to rupture, so when you defrost id would just be a limp dead thing.

try putting something in Dry Ice and let it thaw out..comes out in tiny bits :) all falls apart into tiny pieces..bit like when you freeze bud then let it thaw, won't be in the same form as it went in..
DON'T FREEZE THEM
THIS WILL CAUSE CELLS 2 RUPTURE WEN DEFROSTING-ffs caps lok llf
U can put cuttings in2 a zip lock bag with misting of water then put in ur
FRIDGE for up2 6 wks-this is a proven
method & i have just took +-30 cuttings n placed in bags-misted wi
water-closed-popped in bottom o fridge out o harms way & will be
doing a few every now n then 2 test 4 maself-just take ur cutting skightly
longer than normal so wen take out fridge u just cut where u normally would
dip in clonex-or wat ever u use-in2 ur rockwool cube-as per any normal cutting
great if u've only 1 grow area-this doea work have seen it done few times & we know
any more than 6wks & u start gettin prob's but uptill then perfect cutting 2 flowering
hope this hepls u n guid luk

Yep you can store em in zip lock bags in the fridge for ?? months i would say, i wouldnt put them in the freezer tho. Imagine they wouldnt take to defrosting very well :)

3 months is prob the very max for keeping cuttings in the fridge but to freeze them is a defo NO NO
i bought a industrial freezer 6 foot high it was....sick of the wife nagging ..so i put her in it yesterday..locked it ...so this morning as a good husband ,i took her a cup of tea and some toast..6 hours later not a peep out of her or moaning i did`nt put jam on her toast..i looked her tea was frozen so was her toast..ungratefull get...i will never again make her tea and toast
freezing a cannabis plant will kill it very quickly

is it too late to ask for the tea and toast if she doesn't want it?

lol! If someone you know has a bottle of CryO2 hanging around uno.. you could use that?? afterall its only cryogen (the same shit they use in cryogenics and spray into intercoolers to make your intake cooler on a turbo... scary shit!)

Its impossible IMO Wert, the cells would be long dead, even a frost resilant high allitude indica would die when frozen in a normal freezer, seed is a diff matter, indica seed is designed to withstand freezing, hence stratifcation, but living plant cells will perish rapidly.
Bom!
