Hi everyone, you may know me as Calyx from EDIT.

I'm just gonna give a quick summary of things.:)

here is the group which although are actually quite old, have only been under the 600W sodium lamp for 9 days

and theres a solitary widow clone, there was another one plant but the clones were extremely weak when i received them!

so to sum up i have 7 armaggedons, 3 white rhinos and 5 white widows. they are under 14 hours of light a day at the minute.

Ok so the pictures in this update are showing 6 days progress from the last pics, and i must say, i'm very pleased.

and a proper group shot. you can really see how much they've grown in 6 days. now the tall one you can see there is a male. this has happened as the plants are only receiving 14 hours light a day, but they're still growing like mad! hopefully this bastard will be the only male of the armaggedons!!!

well there you go 15 plants, and only one male. if im a lucky bastard the rest will be females, although i suspect there'll be 2 or 3 more in time.

i really do like this system of 14 hours light. they aren't growing slowly by any means but flowering is still being induced. this means the overall flowering time could be reduced by as much as a week. as previuos grows have shown me, it normally takes a week just to show signs of sex. so i might have my harvest slightly earlier than anticipated!!

thanks you 2!! yeah well lets hope this system works. im putting the light down to 12 tomorrow so in a weeks time ill know whether it has worked ie there should only be 1 or 2 more males, and there should be solid female preflowers in place. and if i havent cut them in 8 weeks ill be dissapointed!

well thats yer update chaps, i put em on 12/12 so by this weekend i should know how may males i have for definate! theres only one i'm concerned about at this minute, so that may go this weekend.

each pot except the lone widow is receiving 9-10 litres of water a week now, but its steadily rising. some days they will just consume so much and they are left thirsty, but i can't risk giving them more as i have no drainage due to the unsuitable room i'm using.

and on my next update i plan to do a more detailed report, maybe on each individual plant.

I remember reading on this or the EDIT diary of yours, you thought of a way you could speed up flowering, so yeah I just wondered if it affected harvest timing, but that's cool man. :)

it still potentially could, by a week anyway. as i said it can take up to two weeks for a plant to show its sex, well in my experience anyway:p

although to be fair i was hoping every plant would have definate flowers on by now. not to worry my friend

Ok well bit of bad news, a white rhino I suspected was male turned out to be just that. I was giving it the benefit of the doubt, as new growth can look similar to male flowers. He just had to go!

And here’s my favourite leaf from her, I placed a pound coin on it so you could get a real sense of scale. I have to say one thing of the Armageddon that I’ve never noticed with any other plant, when you rub the leaves the most amazing deep, rich lemon odour occurs. Very nice indeed!

The top two plants in this shot are the 2 remaining rhinos, sharing same pot. Neither has showed sex yet…I can only hope for one female for clones

Well, there ya go, that’s it!

To summarise, I have removed two males now, one Armageddon, 1 white rhino. I am pretty sure another Armageddon is male, and suspect one more is also male.

Fortunately, I know for certain that 4 Armageddon’s are female, thank fuck!!!!

And I reckon since the rhinos haven’t shown yet, they will be female as males always show much sooner. Which would be ideal.

That would leave me in total with 4 Armageddon’s, 2 white rhino and 5 white widow = total 11 females.

finally the groupshot! looking rather sparse as i took a leaf out of lk's book and just got rid of all the bottom branches. theres a stupid height discrepancy but thats what ya get sometimes if ya mix seeds with clones.


but it doesnt really matter as ive now got those clones sorted out. hurrah!!!


so heres an outlook on expected yields


2 definate armaggedon females - 2 to 2.5 oz each

1 possible hermie armaggedon (providing that one male flower was a one off) - 1.5 oz (as its rather small)

original lone widow clone - 2 oz

2 widow clones that are now receiving full light - 1 oz each

2 widow clones that are now receiving better light - 0.5 oz each

2 white rhinos - 2 oz each

ROUGH TOTAL - 13-14 oz. well if everything goes to plan anyway. i would be extremely pleased if i get this much

yeah the seeds actually cost 275 so i'm not bothered about the yield but clones are essential. anyways my guess is about 7 weeks to finish!

Bitter have you ever thought about topping them in veg and having four nice sized main cola's per plant?

That way it would save on height and you will be able to fill some of the side spaces. It would help you big time with yeild aswell.

on my hawaiian snow grow, they just shot passed the lamp, but the bud was still piling on on the top.:)

i know topping is more efficient overall and easier to magage, but i like my giant plants and big colas, and i find that the yield is not that much more anyway in the log run. plus i have the room so why not eh??;)

i've never really been a technical grower, ive never used hygrometers or even thermometers, i just try and make my plants happy

The JOG method was good i found but with the right strain. When i done it with the big P i lost on yeild compaired to when i just topped them. This is why the next time i flower off clones im going to top them again. I know matt swears by supercropping. I 've never done it myself but i have seen some bloody good results from it. It's fun messing about with different techniques and even better if it pays off. :joint:

I'm @ about the same stage with my grow, so looks like August is going to see plenty of quality porn:leaf:

Supercropping is sure worth a try (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZ0VZKGeFTc). Just a few bends can have a stretch prone Sativa, bushing out
in an Indica stylee. Squeezing the stem between your thumb and forefinger, and rubbing it you crush the inside until itll bend right over:bump: Don't be worried, I've almost snapped one right off, and it just bounced right back.

Looking forward to seeing the upcoming harvest, so keep us posted.

It's always a bitch to get stuck with aload of males, but at the end of the day it's nothing more than a lottery. You can bet your bottom $ there's some lucky bugger somewhere who's had the exact opposite numbers of M/F.

i also 'suppercropped' quite a few branches so it will be interesting to see if it really does work compared to the ones that i didn't 'break'

i water them twice a week, the clones get 2-3 litres, the armaggedons get 4-5 and the rhinos get about 6 litres!

they also get fed every single time.

i hope to have the lone widow ready in 6 weeks at the absolute maximum!!

and you can tell she really is a white strain as their is already a lot of pale yellow pollen on her buds, aswell as with the rhinos!!

well here the update is man, although its very brief, coz nothing really has happened! bit a of bore really

i found a couple of tiny tiny male flowers on it, so i pulled em off. Heres a Q lads, should i just get rid of this plant?? im not sure if its worth the risk, im really not. i checked it thoroughly but what if some pop up at the last minute and i miss them?

Another q, if the a couple of tiny sacs grew and burst, how bad would the damage be do you reckon?

heres a sort of group shot, im not pleased with the armageddon on the left, it was so promising at first but the buds have just slowed their growth rate it seems. a couple of the buds were singed, nothing too bad. the one in the middle is the hermie which i am debating whether i should get rid of it or not. then the final armageddon on the right i jsut covered with bud and im very very happy with it.





well thats yer lot, as i said, not much to report. im gettin a bit impatient now i must say, guess its just not havin any bud for awhile because i refuse to buy contaminated shite!!

but the widow is beautiful, she was worth puttin the grow back a few weeks i reckon!

well they have been flowering for 26 days, man how time drags. i guess that is good progress but not excellent progress. then again i usually find the first month of flowering to be the least exciting

If everything goes accordingly i will be harvesting in 34 days, well definately that widow, i'd say the armageddons might need a week on that, but 9 weeks total flowering time isnt too shabby.

lets hope they start to take off shortly, eh??

OK folks it’s a week on and I’m actually pleased to report the are finally starting to beef up.

Well heres the hermageddon and I’ve decided to leave it because if there are any other male flowers other than the ones I snapped of they are deep inside the bud, so if the split they’re only going to affect a small amount of bud, plus I should be looking at a nice 1 and a half oz from it. This phenotype is sweet smelling, almost off putting.

Heres my favourite Armageddon, it had a sweet peppery smell to it, akin to some purple bud I had years ago. Its the strongest phenotype in terms of buddage.

Heres the more sativa influenced pheno of the arma’s, the buds are only sweet smelling at this point. The buds are smaller and less frequent but are tighter.

Heres the two rhinos, coming along much better now. One had a lot more bud. The smell is hard to distinguish at this point, fairy neutral. The buds are so compact I am worried that mold might be an issue. They have tiny short white ‘hairs’. I have a feeling they are going to be special.

Heres the juicy stuff, my fave plant, the original lone white widow. It is just laced with bud, simply amazing. From an inch from the soil it is almost pure bud all the way to the top. This is why I try to stick to clones. They are so hassle free. The smell is overwhelming. She should be ready in three weeks, I thought it may have been sooner but that’s the way it goes sometimes. Well there you go then, 34 days total flowering time, 26 (in theory) to go. I gave them 5 litres of water each and have added the pk13/14. They will also get another dose of budboost in their next watering, in a few days.


Heres the thing, I’ve ran out of flower feed; could I just get away with using the veg feed I have since they are getting 2 doses of pk13/14? Or do you think I will be losing out if I don’t give them the extra feed?

Its just I didn’t want to order the new plant feed till I get my air cooled sodium to save on the postage costs.

What do you think?

at a guess i would say at least 70%, so more haze than usual

so you should get the power of the G13 in it, the lift of the gaian haze and northern lights #5 plus the additional sativa in the phenotype should make you buzz and keep you uplifted for ages!!

See i find i worry more in the first weeks of flowering than what i do near the end. Near the end i know things will go ok even if something is starting to slip abit. The main factor late in flower is rot and aslong as you know your setup is running ok and your temps are good you will be ok. If you want to you can run your plant's on plain water from upto 3 weeks away from the end of flowering if you wanted to and you can even stretch out your watering an extra day each time to help see you too the end. http://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-forum/images/icons/icon12.gif

Yeah they should be ok mate. It is right they can take a while to ripen but it's more of a case of the buggers being so hard to find once that bud starts to build. It's not impossible though to keep under control, more a pain in the ass really.

indeed, the stems are hard. they had a little bit of bud on the end. since there was only a couple of branches i could take clones from (they higher ones had too much bud) i had to just divide the single branchs into three's.

i already have some other clones, but i just fancied doing a more just before it was too late!

now some bad news, a couple of the buds on the main cola of the widow had that awful rot that looks like cobwebs. and it spread onto the stalk. although it could have been saved i just decided to cut it off, because it was fairly fukin ripe anyway. so its just dryin now.

and i have to say this; supercropping fukin works. on quite a few of the armageddon branches, i snapped em (well sort of, you know) and the buds at the end were positively bulging with bud. so next grow every bastard branch is gonna get supercropped!

anyway, plain water for them from now, and only 16 days to go!!! FUKIN WIKED AS FUCK

Coming here with my reputation for making waves, the last thing I wanted was for this to be taken the wrong way by anyone seeing me in that way. That, plus the fact you'd already handed over your cash convinced me that letting time be the judge was my best option.
I do hope this helps you to understand my position a little better.

mate, it's ok:p, i heard from mat they were rip offs, but no-one was gonna put me off. i'll tell you why i bought the seeds.

1. i loved the name, sure its a sale pitch, but it worked:p
2. i could not find any info on any forum anywhere, if you type in 'armageddon x sirius' into google then my grow diary is one of the first links that comes up - i'm glad i could put some fresh info on the net
3. everyone said they would be shite, but no one had any experience or info on them, its just something i had to do.

tbh mate it might turn out to be just a decent smoke but ill say this now they're wanking all over the white rhino and white widow so far.

i've got dru and emz lined up for a smoke report too, so you'll get an unbiased
view of it, and kv1893 will get some one way or another i reckon, if he shows his face again hehe.

if it is substandard we can spread the word that pukka are shit, i mean if this smokes no good then no other strains from pukka should not be considered

yeah man that widow did have some male flowers tucked tightly away, couldnt actaully see em tho, the bud and the cola i had to take off had a few teeeny seeds in em, like roughly the same size a poppy seed, so nowt to worry about.

its all good though because it'll let the light reach the bottom buds of the widow fully, so no major loss:p

well mate the wait is over, for both of us



some bad news people, (well not really but) i had to cut it all down today...roughly a week early....

BUT on the plus side, its all flushed, and it is technically ready; but i normally prefer a bit more colour in it.

i had to cut it because rot spread on the rhinos, which doesnt really bother me, but i found a little bit on one of the armas, and frankly, i got skitzed.

this is because you may not be aware how fast it can spread...it can ruin entire chunks of cola in days. and because the buds on the armas are so dense i took the decision to cut it a little earlier than expected.

they were still massive though but i really didnt wanna risk the inside of the buds rotting, especially since the grow space i am using is currently not 100% suitable for growing, but its the best i've got atm.

anyway you judge for yourselves, im sure you'll agree they look rather decent anyway :)

the smell is incredible i must say



although the seeds were expensive, they were well worth it in my opinion

this is a very unique plant, very easy too grow and extremely mold resistent, and a great producer even in substandard conditions. if i get a proper grow space sorted out i will definately be looking into other strains from the doggies nuts range:bigjoint:

well ive just been to visit bitter and had a little taster of the armagedon.

so just had a doobie and a cup of tea and am nicely stoned atm. feel very energetic strangely, and most happy:D

is a very smooth smoke, not harsh at all. cant really decide what the smell and taste is like as im just getting over the cold and have been drinking lemsips and allsorts so my taste and smell receptors are a bit knacked!! seems nice though from what i can taste and smell.

very tight buds indeed, incredibly compact. all in all around 8/10 and if cured for a long period, definately a 9/10
