EC meter

I have just got an ec meter and it is showing 1.06mS/cm is that a good reading for my new seedlings?

Elaborate a bit please is that tap water or with nutes etc.

The water is ph balanced tap water at 6.05, nutes are at 30% of full recommended strength. Water is hard.

What is the EC before adding nutes?

Right with ph balanced at 6.06 the reading on my EC meter is 0.47

Unbalanced tap water has a ph of 7.7 and a reading of 0.51

Seems ok yeah. But I don't get how your EC is lower after adding ph down.

I added Ph down measured the Ph and then the EC. After that I just measured the ph and ec in a bog standard tap water sample.

that level sounds OK. I start seedlings with plain water for about a week, then switch to 1/4 strength nutes.
