Just setup my new grow box but have a minor problem. Haven't quite got as much head room as I though I would have. Time isn't really an issue for me so I thought of this.
As I am growing from seed, obviously the plants have to mature before they can flower and this means they will grow for a while before they can produce buds, thus gaining height. My plan was to veg a couple of lemon stinkies until mature enough to flower, find its sex, and then veg for another couple of weeks, and keep the females. Then I could take cuttings from the females and could put them into flower almost straight away thus keeping them short as they are already mature enough to flower.
This would work wouldn't it? I hope it made sense. This is why I left a post about how uniform they are as I wouldn't want to pick a duff plant to take cuttings from.

You would be best of vegging any cuttings you take for atleast two weeks to give them time to root into there new soil. If you flowered off cuttings that have only just rooted they will yeild crap. Or you could give them a weeks veg to keep them small, but remember stinky's stay short even once on 12/12.
Apart from that your idea will work.

Cheers man. Yeah I was going to veg the cuttings for a couple of weeks after but even if I did, they should still be shorter than they would be from seed. I would also be able to fit more cuttings into my grow box wouldn't I? In comparison with plants from seed?

I wouldn't of thought so, if you flower from seed they will finish smaller. The reason for this is 1, they have been put into flower from the start so they will flower real short. 2, the cuttings will be more mature and after a couple of weeks veg they are going to give there max.
As for fitting more in, it would be about the same amount really. But alot of this depends on how you choose to train your plant's. The thing with growing is not how many plant's you can get in, but how you can get the max from the less amount of plant's for your space. What i mean is you could have 4 plant's say give you 8oz in a 3ft by 3ft space or you could do 8 smaller plant's and still get 8oz. It's more to do with your light and room size on how much you can get from how many plant's. You will get to know what works best for you the more you do it.

From seed i can fit upto 16 plants in 11L pots in my bloom room 1m/sq as there more branchy normally, but if i'm using clones i use 5L poly pots and i can fit 32 in there and thay grow 1 large cola each instead of branching out because there packed in close to each other.
