Hi folks, really glad I found THCtalk after 2 weeks of struggling with seedlings. I'm pretty new to everything so please excuse any noob like terminology/references. I've got mates who grow regularly and have gifted me with basic advice and lighting setups. I've literally used THCtalk to guide my careful steps through a first grow though. A big mahoosive thank you to all the brilliant posters and people who take the time to post full detailed instructions on getting the best out of a indoor grow. Also a big thank you to the novice section for being a shining star in my first months of a grow!

I've vegged for about 8/9weeks now, it's a pretty low-cost grow. I'm using cfl's to flower and have anticipated a slow flower and am a pretty patient guy anyway.

I almost cried when I saw the first signs of white hairs coming from my heads and big branches today. Please see my piccies and confirm my excitement that i have two sexy females in my possession.

I hope the photos show enough info, if not i'll pinch my mates SLR again and take some more.

I mean from a cloudy memory i got the seeds from seedy bud. I'd like to have some seeds for a decent grow next time round. Can i separate the two within the same grow area and have one female (for bud) and one female/male (for bud with seeds?)

From most posts i've read everyone condones this and says BIN THE F**KERS. I dont want to......Can i produce some seeded bud and some regz bud?

If you allow the male flowers to open in your growroom, both your plants will be seeded. :( Best to get rid of the ladyboy now and concentrate on the female. Hermies are always a risk when growing from bagseed.

I have a south facing window upstairs and have put them up for a bit of sunlight on good days. I might just take the hermie up there and leave he/she there and see what happens. Never been a fan of killing plants. Will concentrate on the girl (fingers crossed she doesn't start growing bollocks too lol)

As long as I don't cross pollinate or touch the hermie. It's fine just to leave it be right?

yeah that's a hermie alright. expanding on what marm said... the only way you would find seeds in a bag of weed is if the plant it came from got pollinated. there's little chance that this was caused by a male as people generally get rid of their males straight away. the likely case is, the plant or one of the others in the grow space hermied. this means the seeds produced will be female with a tendency to hermie themselves. best to stick to seeds from respected breeders.

about keeping the hermie... there is every chance some of the pollen could get into your clothes or something and still be transferred to the girl. if you plan on keeping it, pick off all of the male flowers as the appear.

Just had a surgery session and scalpelled off all the balls. Am I simply cutting them as they appear? If I do it often will more grow back in larger numbers or will the plant learn what's happening? I'm guessing I'm doing this to stop the seeds and even the chance of pollination?

well chances are it'll revert back to veg anyway being on your windowsill so you won't be chopping them off for long. just make sure you give your hands a good scrub after touching the male flowers.

and yeah stopping the male flowers maturing removes the risk of pollen being produced and ultimately getting on your female which will produce seeds.

ye, that a hermie, big chance that whole bag of seeds is hermie, what marm n tay have said is good stuff!! good luck with it all!!!
