I know its alittle late but might aswell give it a go with some bag seed and outdoor mix
i live surrounded by some woods but they have lots of hikers and dog walkers
any advice when choosing my spot?

Well:

South facing is ideal
Off any paths - be sure not to make paths to your spot.
Dont plant too close to houses / back gardens - plants stink.

^Plants dont stink that much outdoors. You have to be in pretty close proximity to smell em.

Just find a very open spot where itll get a lot of sunlight.

^ Open has it's risks though, I prefer to find the thickest most impenetrable patch of brambles and stingers and hack out a clear spot in the middle of it all. You gotta watch you don't make paths though.

Last year I had to get within 20 odd feet before I could smell anything and that was when my Purples were in full bloom.

put the seeds in hanging baskets and hang em from a tree (high up ofc), making sure its not visible and the plants get light.

i'd do it just under the canopy...

Take precautions against rabbits, i have lost over 10 plants to rabbits this season. Some plants I have found chewed, dug up and left next to where I planted them.

I have heard, dog shit, human piss, soap and human hair scattered around the grow area are good deterants for rabbits. I didn't use any of these and have paid for it.

Watch out for using soap, the fat in soap is edible to rats, it will attract them to your growspot.

Dru, that is an awesome idea if you can climb! Only worry is watering/feeding, getting up there with water/ferts all the time could be a hassle.

use a green rope to higher and lower your plant.
this method stop all rat and little fuckers from eating your plant.

Got to be honest mate, I've never heard of rats being a problem with MJ.

Are you saying the rats will eat the soap you have set so there will be no deterent to the rabbits?

Its not gospel, ive just heard it on this site (must have been, as i dont use any others).

Apparantly the fats in soap are edible for rats and attract them, or something like that. Dunno, they could probably knock a plant over or just trample over it if its young.

its all good :joint:

Rabbits are fucks. Even in an entire field of luscious young tasty tender sprouts they will find your MJ and DESTROY it! They seem to home in on the stuff. The only thing i ever found to work was making sure the plant was pretty big before putting out, they like tender young ones best. Even better than that is to find somewhere that doesn't have rabbits or deer at all. No poo = no problems. It's worth taking your time and finding a good site...
