Smiles from strangers..

Is it just me that finds smiling at strangers amusing...
Some people smile right on back at me, others looked shocked and some just act like I am wearing a straight jacket....
I dont understand what is so shocking about getting a smile from someone you don't know... some people are just friends you haven't met..

There is a woman who drives a ka that lives somewhere near me, and every morning we arrive on the narrowest steepest road at the same time, her at the top, me at the bottom..
We take it in turns to give way to one another, its my turn tomorrow, and we have kind of a stranger relationship, smiling and waving good morning to one another like we knew each other away from that steep road...

i do it occasionally if i'm riding my bike or on a walk,

the only other time when i would do it is when i'm mashed and think i know everybody. lol

If you smile at people here they look at you sideways and think you have some sort of problem with them, except the older people who do smile and have time of day for you. :(

When i went over to dublin they all walk around with smiles on there faces 24/7 and singing most of the time. Lovely happy people over there. :)

I agree about london. I remember standing in the middle of a street in london a few years back and it was buzzing with people flying past on mobile phones and there was this constent humming coming from there voices. really ! i must be so naive coz i never see anything like that in my area, but i am deep in the rural countryside, but who knows... people probably do it but i never notice lol.

I know what you mean, i was walking down the high street in my local quite small town and i walk past these kids who looked about 13 and one of them was skinning up, just blatentlt in the middle of the street.

And i went to my local DnB club the other night and evryone was trollied which is expected, as was i. But there were kids in there who looked as young as 15 who had a complete gurn on. It's not really surprising nowadays as dealers don't care who they sell it to as long as they're making money.

I like to smile at people, When I go to my car in the morning I see the same 3 people, Dog man, Collage boy and nurse lady, havent got a clue of their real names but there's always a good morning and sometimes even a whitty remark.

But most of the time if I smile at anyone else on the street I just get a confussed look in return.

that's brilliant! the mutual relationship thingy...

I love things like that man, harmonised existence without the use of lingual communication...shows what a fat load of use language is! Who needs it, when relationships/friendships can be much more meaningful without it!

I am afraid I am rather shy and if anyone smiles at me I kind of get shy and think "What the hell is on my face?" but then realise it's alllllll that sexiness :D
