View Full Version : When to start flowering?

It's been 30 days since I planted the seeds and I'm not quite sure about when to put them into flowering. My understanding is that, the longer I keep them in veg the taller they'll eventually grow. Right? I only have got a blue and a red 250W CFL, running the blue one 24/7 but I'm in the process of improvising a second reflector so I could use both bulbs for flowering. The thing is, eventually I will take cuttings from the plants for cloning and those will also need some light, too. So, ideally I should use only the red light for flowering while I use the blue light to veg the clones.

When should I put the girls into flowering if I want to continue to grow three plants under 1 250W CFL light and get a decent enough crop? Any suggestions?

Here are a few pics of the girls. They have gone through a bit of stress in the first 3 weeks due to bad soil. They are growing steadily now but I feel they are lagging a bit behind in their development.

The longer you leave them the bigger they get with a good chance of a bigger yield. But consider a few things, how much height have you got in your room ? how quick do you want a smoke ? Also do you have enough light to keep big plants happy ? I doubt you would be able to penetrate enough. I would personally switch to 12/12 now.

Alrighty then. I think I'll flower the two smaller ones and keep the large as a mother. Need to find a place for her to stay in veg though. Never thought of it. Bummer..
