grow diaries

This forum has been a huge help in figuring out a first time grow. The support for novice growers is great and apart from the everyday stoner conversation the grow diaries are the best part of the site.

in regards to informing the novice grower I think it would be sweet, and save some ppl some time if there was a seperate section for CFL grows and high tech grows.

Obviously there are a lot more MH/ HPS grows on here than CFL's so it takes some time sifting through a the diaries in order to find one that might be helpful to the CFL grower.

cuz lets be honest, if your usin HPS you have money, and space, which are both huge factors in the grow, and are both usually things the CFL grower is lacking...

That does sound like a great idea, but i think members find it easier to just browse the dairys tbh.

must admit i thought the same the other day as although i flick through most diaries i do tend to look out more for cfl grows as thats the way i grow.
but theres no need for a new section if we can get enviro growers to put CFL in the title of their diary.

I had to search for wee while to find a CFL diary a few weeks ago, but found a few in the end, but for my new grow i was just going to put 'CFL' in the title as Berg suggested, don't see much point in splitting the sections, what about folk who use both?

Surely it's all about received light to the plant regardless of the source of output...but then the the topic is a never ending debate (light waves in nm, how close, reflective surfaces, watts, manufacturer etc etc).

It's a good idea all the same but I think that ultimately if you were to split the diary threads into sections would it not make CFL/ HPS growers narrow-minded in their search for grow diaries...with CFL growers only looking into CFL diaries and HPS into HPS? Then it could get silly and turn into too many sections for nutes, midiums, strains etc.

Why not create a CFL icon & HPS icon like the icons used to post next to the Topic Titles "Post Icons" then a member can select the icon when creating there Grow Diary and other members will see the CFL/HPS icons next to the Topic Titles before they click them so if a user is wanting a CFL only diary read they know whats what.

Tbh mate we would like to keep things as they are really mate, having all the grow diarys under one roof and together is spot on. ;)

We don't want to start dividing the HPS and CFL grows from each other as someone has already said.

OK what about the idea I pointed out, that does no divide nothing?

OK fair enough but in all honesty speaking from soomeone like myself who knows HTML/PHP it would take 5 minutes if that to edit the code and making a few icons well not long depends how detailed you want them.

Nothing wrong with a few extras, and many people do look at post icons, but hey it's no skin off my nose as i look at grows whatever they be (CFL or HPS) so meh.
