1 Gigabye is 1024 Megabytes, an average song is 3-4MB, an average torrent movie is 700MB. You can fit quite a lot on 160GB, especially on a netbook which you probably wont want to install much software on. I got quite a few games, movies, albums and software on my computer and have only used 80GB.
They use bigger HD's as a selling point and to justify a higher price, but it's easy enough to buy a portable hard drive should you ever need more storage.
P.S just google 'laptop model' review, it could be too noisy, the speakers could be shite, etc; see what people say before you buy.

ipad second hand mate. portability, battery life, appstore, touchscreen = no brainer. THC talk is great on an ipad, as is surfing and having a shit at the same time.

Get an Asus eeepc 1000 bud, got four in the house , great wee machines and keeps the kids of MY pc lol, you can pick up Linux based ones new for about £150 or windows for a couple of hundred , they are ideal for what you want , the four I bought for Xmas pressies a couple of years ago were all XP pro but with the purchase of an external dvd playe/burner they all work great with Windows 7, the only problem I have had with two f them were the batteries were allowed to go mega flat and left without charging which set off a safety feature which stops the battery from working
