So Seth Rogen, the writer and main actor of the movie said in an interview that they thought up the name just for the movie, it was not based off of a strain (source is forum posts no links sry).

I've seen medical dispensaries selling supposed P.Express, though I think its fabricated, this was only after the movie. It makes financial sense to feed off of the movie's popularity, unfortunately.

I heard from a reliable dispensary owner that some of these new strains are pineapple or pineapple crosses, which adds some legitimacy. But since there is no connection to the amazing weed in the movie, who cares? If you made a new pineapple cross, come up with an original name :bigjoint:

I have a rule strider. You only go to see films with mass special effects at the cinema. Batman really is a must to see at the cinema!

I did it the wrong way round, I watched a crappy download version of batman and went to see PE at the cinema :( will go and see Deathrace soon though, I have good hopes of it :)

i'm probably a sucker for buying into tangerine dream so can't really talk (even though it won the cannabis cup last year)... pineapple express though, that's just g13 labs' (attitude's own seed co... 'the biggest seedbank in the world' :laugh:) shady attempt at pumping money out of movie fans. shame really cause i enjoyed the movie. it just hurts me to think that breeders would jump on a fictional strain, throw in any shoddy genetics they want and hit a guaranteed mass market on the success of a few actors and film makers.

my advice: avoid hype like the plague and read up on landrace strains & genetics.

I wasn't out to bash him either as you can see in my post I gave him a heads up as he could be warned etc so showing that he should change it asap was just to help his ass and also said what he should do to avoid any further mistakes, that is all, take it as you want.

And yeah it can sometimes be easy to re-woke an old thread when using the search and just a handful very old threads shows up although its not like that in this case as there are more then a handful of newer threads about the topic that shows up before this old one would had, just saying.
