Hello,
I recently acquired a 6" RVK150 extractor fan. My grow set up will be in a cupboard of dimensions 14.5" wide, 30" deep and 43" tall.
Now this fan seems pretty powerful/noisy; is there any way of toning down the power of the fan? (There's no speed dial)
Thanks
The only way of doing it is getting a fan speed controller but that fan is a bit overkill for that space.

Would a couple of 120mm PC fans be sufficient for cooling?
I'm using a 400W HPS
No, the PC fans wont cut it, best off getting a 4" fan and filter for that space.

Have you tried the fan rigged up with ducting on? They are a lot louder with no ducting or filter
I would echo what others have said, the 6 inch will always be too noisy, if of course noise is the issue, regardless of ducting.
A fan speed controller will limit the times it is at full tilt but still a little big and noisy.
My advice would be get a smaller fan and perhaps move the 6 inch on to someone else, or keep it until you get the inevitable growing bug and up your grow area.

that fan is too big dude a 4" would do 5 at a push

Hmmm ok thanks for the advice! Anyone want to buy a fan? :p (joke)
Would something like this work?

It would but you will hate yourself for doing it!
Go smaller fan but on constant, it will become white noise after a few days....
