Nearing harvest time.

Thought I would offer up a few pics of a plant growing in a mates garden. I gave him the plant in May when she was about 18" high.
Plan is to stagger the harvest, chop the upper buds in two weeks, then let the lower buds carry on ripening off for a further week or two.

Half the harvest of this baby is mine...:dance2:

Sheesh! Looks like its some size? Is is a wierd angled photo or is it just huge?!

It is pretty big, to give an idea of scale that is a 6ft high shed to the left of the picture.

As a wild guess I suppose we are hoping to pull about 10 maybe 12oz, not to mention the copious amounts of cannabutter that will be made out of the leaves, plus a decent block of hash from silk screening the trim. :barmy:

Hope so dekay, this is week two of having no draw, i'm getting through an oz of Amber Leaf a day...:(

how do you do it?

Build a wooden frame, stretch a fine mesh silk screen across it and staple it in place. Freeze trim or bud. (this makes the trichomes brittle)
Put a tray or something to catch the trichomes underneath the frame, then gently rub/shake your frozen trim across the screen. The frozen trichomes will pass through the screen on to the tray beneath. Once you have rubbed all the trim you should have a tray covered in a thin layer of trich's, collect this up and put in to a small cellophane bag, I use the wrapper off a cigerette box. Roll in to a tight package and use sellotape to keep in place. Then wrap the package in a few layers of newspaper and again use sellotape to keep in place, then run the package under a tap.
Put in the oven for about 10mins at about 140, not too hot as you don't want the cellophane to melt in to your hash. Take out the package and use a rolling pin to flatten the it out, press down as hard as you can, the aim is to release the resin from within the trichs. Once you have done this, re-wet the package and repeat. When done put your package in the fridge for about 10 mins to cool off, then unwrap your home made 100% pure hash. :)

how much hash do u get from what amount of trimmings curious as to weve be worth doin? thanks sounds grrr8 lol

Don't expect a lot but do expect some very good quality hash. This one done using about 1/2oz of frozen trim. At the time I didn't have a silk screen so a silk scarf pulled taught around a mixing bowl was used. Not ideal because the scarf will let more leaf matter through. As you can see my powder is a light green in colour, a screen will only let the trichomes through and therefore the end product will be more golden in colour and more pure.

literally the trimmings left over from manicuring your freshly harvested buds. come to think of it, does drying your trim make any difference?
