Not a happy chappy

I changed my HPS bulb last night for a brand new growlux that i've had sat here for a couple of months only to go out tonight and come back five hours later to no light on in my flower room and my ballast click click clicking away and this is what i found >>

Im just glad the bugger didn't explode whilst we where out and my ballast is still working. I popped the old bulb in and away it went. So i guess on the phone to growell tomorrow. :deviltoker:

Yeah Growell I'm not too impressed with them myself mate, I use Greens for all my online needs...:)

Thanks everyone, growell have said there will be a new one here tomorrow morning. They did say it's very rare for a new one to go like that but it does happen with all makes sometimes.

When you look at it you can see it's the blue element thats gone because that little wire that wraps around the middle tube has all gone and is black dust just sat around inside the glass. http://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-forum/images/icons/icon11.gif

I'll tell you what was weird this morning, I had to unplug my MH today to move the wires about and when I plugged it back in the ballast was just clicking... I was a bit stumped, so I tilted the ballast on it's side and it started working.
What's up with that? :confused:

When you unplugged your light mum, did you plug it in again straight after?

Because with HID lights your suppose to turn them off to let them discharge for a bit before unplugging them and plugging them back in again (they discharge all the built up power out off the earth pin in your plug). If you do unplug them and plug them in again they can keep clicking.
