Background ec ?

Hi,folks

About to grow in coco,but stuck at what to do with my ec...my background out the tap is .5 and i require a low ec for clones lets say .8 how do i reach this? do i add or subtract it from my background ec?

hi you shouldnt have a ph of .5 from tap water,tap water is normally around 7,you should lower it to around 5.5 for veg and 6.2 for flowering,a seedling should be at around 5.0,hope this helps

sorry stoned ,lol to lower your ec just add water that has been treated to get correct ph,adding water to your plants and no feed will lower the ec

u will have to add 0.3 worth of nutes, tap water is crap try and get another source

i thought you'd just make it up so it reads 1.3

i have access to as much reverse osmosis water as i like (reads 0 on ec pen so i just add nutes till its whatever i want

Hey man

If your background ec is 0.5 then just add what you need to add. The EC will be 0.5 higher, it will not effect the plants.
Im from Denmark, my background EC is 0.9-1.1, most of this is calcium. It wont make much of a difference.
