Need some advice! I am helping out a mate who has had a pack of 10x Sensi Super Skunk tucked away in a drawer for the past 5 years or so! I used the paper towel and saucer technique as I had done myself with my own current grow! So far 4 cracked within a day or so and began to sprout while the others day 4 appear to have cracked and I can see white flesh they don't appear to be progressing like my own fresh seeds!
<a href="http://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=196619&d=1369043188" title="Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk 21369043187.291786.jpg

The above photo is one of the 4 which I thought were fine but again they don't seem to be progressing!o

I'm thinking of popping a couple of Super Silver Haze seeds i've got knocking around spare, plus i've got me some new seeds too.
The new seeds i have one each of is a Barney's Farm Pineapple Chunk, Barney's Farm LSD and a Green House Seeds' Super Lemon Haze.

After my last effort of popping seeds, of which all the unknown branded seeds which the SS Haze are a part of, i wanted make sure that i get everything correct.
I've already pre-soaked some Root Riot cubes in a mixture of water pH'd 6.0 and Vitalink Bioplus for a couple of Japanese Rose seedsi want to grow.
Now i want to make sure that whatever seeds (cannabis) i have, and decide to plant, will have the best possible chance to sprout and grow.

What i want to ask is, what would be the best steps to take, using Root Riot cubes, to get these seeds going?
As you can probably tell from my post, i'm not really feeling that confident in the Barney's seeds so i want to make sure that whatever i do doesn't result in another dud.

Any advice is much appreciated.

I've been having a bit of a problem germinating some Kalashnikov seeds. I've germinated seeds using the paper towel method before with great success every time, but the Kalashnikov seems to get partially started and just stop and die! I've attached a photo below to show you where they get up to before the seem to die...

Hi all,I've cracked my seeds and planted them into rockwool cubes but I'm not sure of the best way to get them to grow? I've got them in a propagator with a cfl over them at the moment, they been like it for couple of days now,but still no sign of any growth! I'm wondering wether it's too cold for them? They are kept at room temp, but obviously with the extra little heat from a cfl on them.any ideas on what to do,or should I just be a bit more patient, and just wait lol.

Just been browsing the net on how to take cuttings etc and came across this statement from a grower on another site, is this bloke talking rubbish or can it really be done? Rooting at a later date? Keeping them in statis?

" You can take clones of a vegging plant or up to 2 weeks into flower. You could also take the cuttings put them into a glass of water (just the stems) and put them into your fridge. They'll keep for weeks and then when you're ready put them into a rooting medium.

Also make sure you take the cuttings after a flush to reduce the amount of nitrogen in the cutting."

Hi guys, after the failure I had a few weeks ago germinating my last lot of seeds decided to buy some new one and start again. But I still have 2 of the seedlings from last month that I chucked in the groom 18/6 for the past week and have actually decided to grow. The seedlings I have left over are both femanised 1 white widow and 1 special kush #1, I germinated them in soil and just left them On the window sill but on sunday the kush looked like it was dying so that's when I chucked them in the groom and ordered 4 new seeds, now here's my issue I've the 2 ladies left over and the 4 new seeds germinated and now in soil in a black tuppawere container should I take the lid off before they break the soil or leave then in the dark until the break the soil? And will it cause a problem that the just and widow have been exposed to the light longer than the new seeds?

New seeds are all feminized:

Barneys farm: tangarine dream

Hang five: melon lime

Simply female: dragons breath

Black skull: pineapple gum

Thanks guys

Hi all on Sunday night I popped my next seed I'm wanting to grow in a mug of water (not a glass). It's Sannie's sugar punch by the way.
Anyways I left it for 24hrs then switched it over to the paper towel method.
Which is the same way I successfully germinated my last seed.
Today the taproot has broke through and I'm just getting a jiffy pel ready now to drop her in(or place very gently to be precise). Anyways I'm sat just browsing my grow bible and it states when using this method if the seed doesn't sink within 24hrs it could well not be viable. But it does say using a glass but don't think a mug would be any different.
Mine didn't drop at all it was still on the surface after 24hrs or so. So I'd like to no other people thoughts on seed not sinking using this method. Every bit of info is much appreciated. Cheers

Hi all,

Hows things going with everyone?
I haven't been around for a while but its not because of anything serious. I've just been busy with my home life and work so i haven't really had time to jump on the forums and stay in touch.

Well, as i'm now starting my own garden (vegetables) i figured i would give a couple of seeds from my collection.
I haven't grown for some time for a couple of reasons.

The first reason, and probably most important, for not growing was that a friend of mine had a friend that wanted to grow. Cash croppers, who were also stoners, which i later found out.
They needed help with setting up and even though i was reluctant to do so, my friend asked me to help him out to get them to leave him alone.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, i helped him out to help his friends and all was going fine apparently.
That was until they had managed to get themselves raided because the dopey bastards were robbing the electricity.
Oh, and their neighbours got done at the same time and to what i hear, it was quite a haul.
It was for this reason that my little project was shut down so no suspicion could fall my way.

The second was because of the poor quality seeds i had when i ordered some blue cheese from the Attitude seed bank.
Out of 5, 2 didn't pop and just grew into a fungus, 2 were really poor and sickly from the get go and the 1 viable seedling that did actually begin to grow slowly keeled over and died regardless of how much love i showed it.
It was really disheartening as other seeds that i had popped, and which were from an unknown source, all came through fine and were quite vigorous in their growth.
The only problem was that they were popped for my brother and none were for me. :(
They were a cracking smoke whatever they were.

Anyway.
I've just dropped in the freebies that came with my blue cheese and these have been dropped into soil.
The seeds used are 1x Afghan Haze 33 from CH9 seeds and 1x Confidential Cheese from Reserva Privada.

The soil i've used is John Innes seed and cutting compost mixed with some vermiculite.
I also added some Mycorrhizal to the mix for better root growth.

Now, as i have never grown in soil before (normally i go hydro when growing and coco for mother plant) what is best practice once i'm at the seedling stage?
I know that its best to allow the plant to tell me when to feed as opposed to feeding because i think its necessary.
I know a general practice is to feed when the plants leaves begin to show signs of paleness and even then, use a slightly under strength mix.
Apart from this i know practically nothing else so some advice and perhaps a bit of guidance would be a great help.
Also, has anyone tried either of these strains before and what are your personal ratings on smoothness, taste and strength?

Thanks in advance for any advice given.

Hey lads

in the recent past i have acquired some great white shark beans from herbies.. as well as 2x royal cheese and 1x kerala x skunk as freebies.

Now they were all germinated in moist paper towel and kept on the window sill in an open container but some went better then others.. i checked them regularly and sprayed them with a spray bottle on the finest mist setting when they started to lose their moisture.

Kerala x skunk - germed perfect and sprouted perfectly and is doing wonders.

2x royal cheese - only 1 germed good and sprouted and is doing wonders and the other didnt even crack.

Great white shark - They all cracked and had a small white tip coming from the bottom, i planted them in rockwool and its coming up to 3 weeks and not 1 of them has sprouted, i opened 2 of the 5 up in rockwool and the seed looks no different from when i put it in a few weeks ago.

I understand Greenhouse beans are shit house in most peoples opinions.. is this the case why my beans arent sprouting? Im just a bit shattered thats all as they were the main beans i wanted and they havent even worked but the freaking free beans are booming lol. Not what i expected hahah i thought it was going to be the other way around.

Ive spoken to herbies and theyre replacing the beans next time i order, but in the mean time i wanna know how you lads do it...
I will say one method i dont see the point in is the water cup method as people end up putting it in paper towel anyway.. is there a particular reason why its thrown into just a cup of water??

Should i just plant my new beans straight into rockwool and go from there??
