Res with pressurized O2

Little air jets help some O2 dissolve sure, but when it comes down to it, the solubility of O2 in water is determined by temp and partial pressure of O2 over the water.

I was considering the idea of creating an airtight res that you can fit a tank nozzle in the top of. The water pump and drain line will obviously have to be well below the lowest possible water line, and the pressure inside the res should not be so high as to push water into the drain line and feed line.

Beyond that, keeping the tank under pressure isn't really necessary. Since solubility is dependent on the partial pressure of O2 alone, simply making sure that the gas over the water is pure O2 would immediately result in 5 times the dissolved O2 in the water. Doubling the pressure to just 2 atmospheres inside (which shouldn't displace the water problematically) will further increase the O2 10-fold beyond what any airstone would allow. The O2 tank wouldn't be readily used up since the excess dissolved O2 would only be released during feeds and the concentration of dissolved O2 is relatively low compared to the amount in an O2 tank.

Whatcha guys think?
