1 x600watt for flower jus waiting on two "cheese" clones to flower through started them flowering 3.6 days ago not much happening yet..
Appreciate any comments I saw a few probs to start with :furious: but now they are under control.. so I know I have few yellow leaves lower down :weed:
Main question is are these doing well? how is the node spacing small/large enough? obviously I get the stretch etc... when I do flower. very 1st time grow of anything green. i can take them to about 2 ft before flowering.

Bit of background, For a few years I was using biobizz nutes and soil. Every grow I would have to trek 20 miles to the city to go to the hydro shop and pay 8 quid or something for a bag of soil. Well, I got a little fed up with this and went to my local garden centre last grow, got a bag of potting compost for 2 quid. Not only that but my plant loved it. The thing is I had a little perlite lying around so I threw it in. Now It's time for a new grow and I'm going to use same compost but I've no perlite left. It's a bit of a pain in the ass to deal with, plus I'll have to go to homebase and look kind of dodgy buying perlite.

In this diary I intend to... I was floating abt the garden and house thinking how to put an extra spin on my current grow of Amnesia and Love potion.
In this diary I intend to take a few cuttings from the strongest plants. I havent cloned much canna but have done some with garden plants.
With tomatoes I just cut them and put them in their own pot and keep misting them and they root.
With strawberries they have runners and with these I push them in to the dirt, wait for them to root and then cut from the mother and then they are their own plant.

While reading THC I can recall people having problems with cuttings rooting etc and I think I have only seen the cutting method for cloning.
So anyway while thinking abt my grow I was thinking 2 twists.

1. I will grow the plant and when a re-pot is done I will lower the lowest branch in to the soil and fix it there and let it root (extra root mass?) and just leave it there to grow and stay part of the original plant all in the same pot.

2. I could also use this method (maybe using a lifted pot with dirt) to tie a branch down in to until it roots and then cut from the mother.

I am going to try both of these ideas.
Im sure the idea abt leaving the cutting attached to the mother will defo work but the one abt creating an extra set of roots from a branch im not to sure.
I think if the pots big enough it could make for some explosive growth but if its smallish would they compete for soil etc or would they join and live harmoniously?

The next lot started taking the EC down again but HOLY SHIT !!! I thought the plant would have been dead outright in Coco of that EC !! You learn something new everyday :)

This is kinda my first grow, male first plant, And I'm not sure whats going on. I thought my plants had bad soil so i transplanted it into fresh soil with a better soil and compost. They start off green growing and with no issue, but when the leaves grow out they get like this and the leaves are kinda krispy. But there not dry and they get too hot. They did get to much nutrient at one point cuz of someone trying to grow for me. Thats why i re-planted it. Thanks

They have been rooted ok & now have been transferred into small pots (13cm) in a soil mix. They are now in a conservatory which has a plastic type roof where the daylight/sun is defused quite nicely. I don't have a proper T5 light setup but I do have a 1 bulb 2' rootit 24w cfl thingy. Question is should I be using the cfl or shall I just keep them in the conservatory ? Which is better ? I'd imagine the conservatory is better certainly at this time of year (in UK) but I could be wrong. Maybe I should have them in the conservatory in the daytime & then put them into the groom at night under the cfl?

Once I get them big enough they can go under HPS which is all ready to go, it's just the first few weeks I'm scratching my head about

The plant is meant to be an auto white widow, same as my past grow, but its not flowering, and it is 5 weeks old. It is showing some stretch despite being tied down.
Initially i thought it was maybe male, but checked it and it looks loke female parts, wee sack with hairs cominig out of it. there are no balls showing.
It was started in my tent under a 600w HPS dual spec, on a 20-4 light cycle, for approximately 2 weeks, by which time it was showing female pistols.
Matey boy takes it off home, and plonks it in his grenhouse. Feeding it only tomato food., it is 5 weeks old, and it looks like it is beginning to crown, but i could be wrong.
Pics i took are pretty shite, but, do you think it might have reverted back to veg state, and is not in fact an auto? Thats my theory anyways.
It looks super healthy, with no signs of stress or cold affecting her/ him/ it
Or the shock of moving it from the tent to greenhouse has caused it to hermie?
I dunno, look at the pics and pass your verdict.

I've been growing skunk #1 for the last few grows and i have to say i love it. great smoke, great smell, very easy to grow. highly recommended if anyone has yet to have the pleasure in growing it, however, I am looking for a change as it does get a bit samey when you only got 1 strain lol. Not looking for anything with any less than 60% indica as i did chuck a couple of lemon haze in there last year and they were very gangly with a shit yeild but i do like how easy the skunk is to grow so looking for another strain that's easy to grow

Any recommendations of indica strains you guys grow and love would be awesome, Look forward to your replies,

I have just harvested enough green to last me a good few months, but already i fancy another grow,... Right ho fellow tokers, i have a dilema.
I have just harvested enough green to last me a good few months, but already i fancy another grow, ...BUT... i also need to sell my house.
So do i market my house, and keep it weed free, till it sells (next door neighdour had thiers on market for 3 years to sell thiers)
Or
Do i go with a grow in the garage, and tell the estate agents that they cant get in to look at the garage.
I think this would be a bit suspect, if it was me looking for a house, i would want to see the garage.
I also dont relly want the grief of taking down tents and hiding plants if someone does want to view the house.
I cant grow in the loft either, as it isnt big enough.
decisions decisions, what do you think, is it worth the risk?

This is my first post. I'm doing my first small grow with seeds. I've done one before, but it was from clones. I'm growing 2 Cheesy Dick, 1 Moby Dick, and 4 Dutch Passion Power Plant. All of them are from feminized seeds.

Most of my plants have started to show sex. I'm waiting on a few of the CD and MD, but most of them are looking female. However, the Dutch Passion Power Plant looks... weird. I guess they look male, but I'm not sure. Their sex bits look more like a new leafy branch growing out. It's odd that out of 5 feminized seeds, all of them would be male. I'm feeling panicky. I don't know if I should pull them or not. They've started showing a few days ago and I'm worried they'll polinate my other ones (the few I have left!).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

so here is a step by step of my methods, all in 1 go before i forget:o

the cuttings are taken,dipped in clonex and put straight into canna coco+

1ml of canna A+B coco feed and 2ml of rhizotonic are added to 750ml of water in a spay container

cutting is then placed on the windowsill out of direct sunlight for a week(cloudy days are also fine)DSCF2897.jpg

they take aroung 10-14 days to get going,and after 3 or 4 weeks i move them into 1 litre airpots

It seems, based on what I have read, there are 3 basic steps for an indoor grow.

1 - geminate (paper towel method)
2 - plant germinated seed in a small container (like a peat pot)
3 - transplant the young plant into it's larger (3 gallon) final container.

I am curious why I don't see much (any) discussion where anyone reduces this process to one step, i.e. plant seed directly in the one, final pot. With all the concern over stressing the young plant, why not plant directly in a lager pot and avoid all the possible issues? No worry about touching the germinated seed's little tap root, no worry about transplanting and stressing the young plant. There must be a reason this approach seems to be largely ignored. I am about to start my first grow so your resonses will be very important to me.
