Landrace

Could someone please enlighten me to the advantages/disadvantages of pure landrace?If there is no advantages why advertise it as a pure landrace?

i believe stronger genetics come from the landrace true breeding strains,of which there are numerous from around the world,mazar i sharif,and afghans etc are now the backbone of many current and past strains,the idea being that if say you cross an inheranly unstable strain,like bigbud for example,by crossing bb with afghan1 a landrace true breeding strain it would in theory stabilise the cross which itself would be true breeding.so basicaly its the genetics.and yes they do charge excessive price for true landrace stuff and germination is never guaranteed.

All modern hybrids started out as landrace vars but don't expect the biggest yields and definatly do your research first before deciding which landrace to grow and theres a few seedbanks like world of seeds who say there landrace vars but there not pure.

Landraces make great p1 parents,hence the price is often over inflated,or sometimes expensive,for being rare.Often when they are heavily inbred,germ rates can be hit and miss.Growth is not as vigorous as an f1 hybrid.F1 hybrids from two different p1 landraces make great seeds.

Also inbreed strains can make Great P1's as in Landraces or inbreed got to find the right ones to make the cross with, most times for what we want a Indica x Sativa cross is the best for yield and THC/CBD %. one thing about Landraces is that it still might not throw constant young till it's been inbreed some.
