Default How do you remove your chlorine?

I dont have room to leave my water under the lights or out in the sun to kill the chlorine so have ordered some vitamin c tablets & a chlorine testing kit to get the dosage right.

Not sure how this will effect the overall PH when I add my nuits but seems a must to keep the microherd going.

    Anyone else concerned about this?

I also add a pinch of Boron to my water.

I fill my 5L watering can everyday and just let it stand for ~24 hours. I grow organically and I need my micro-herd. My method hasnt killed my herd so it must be fine

I normally explain why the US and UK governments really care for its citizens - that would agitate anything!

    Let it stand for 24hrs.

Have you guys tested to see if you idea works. Or do you just go by if the plant is alive or dead?

Have you got a water quality report from your local water supplier (the one who produces it for your area not necessarily the one who bills you) ?

I've been rooting around looking into the whole chlorine kills the herd conundrum, although most of it is way too scientific for me to fully appreciate. But, Chlorine is a micro that all plants need for good growth and small amounts, it would seem, do not instantly kill off the funky fungi as most people suspect. IT comes down to the amount of residual chlorine left in the supply by the time it comes out of the tap and as long as it's <5mg/l your fine. My WQR states its got a mean of 0.25mg/l so no worries

Also, chlorine is more active in ph range 6.5-7.0 so for most growers who run at below 6.5 it is less of a concern.

And, the length of exposure to chlorine may have an impact, so flushing will not help the rhizosphere much as it has longer to act on the cells of the fungi. But this can be a good thing towards the end of the grow as it will inhibit uptake of nutes which is what we need in a way.....

I will try to dig up some of the papers on it....there you go, have a read and make your own conclusions

Its chloramine thats the hardest to get rid of, a by product of the cleaning process useing chlorine and amonia. But bubbling it will usually rid it of most the chlorine after 24/7, i think to break down chloramine you gotta seperate them back to amonia and chlorine b4 it can be evaporated , not too sure how i think you gotta use summink organic and bubble it, but far from sure about this bit.
