    Default iranian auto

    hi.
my galpal and i haven't had much luck up here in west montana mts. we want to try the iranian autoflowering next year but we don't know anyone who has grown it and want to know if the quality of the bud is even worth it. can't find anyone who has tried it.
when we grow guerilla way up its been spotty with stuff from the shake box but when we tried auto lowrider and ak47 we got our feelings hurt. we have 3 months max. any help you have we'll be glad to have.

never grown it myself but from the review sounds like a winner.......the blurb....While I'm sure we've covered this
    strain of weed before… I can't
remember, but it bears repeating as
she's that unique and any website
    devoted to marijuana wouldn't be
    complete without her mention.
Iranian autoflower was one of the
first game changing "autos," on the
market, she has a tendency to finish
    incredibly early while still delivering
a massive yield packed with superb
    potency.
    This war tested autoflower from
    deep in ‘Ayatollah country’ has
    hearty characteristics that can easily
blend in well with different types of
    foliage, making the camouflage of
your outdoor patch as easy as
    weaving foliage through your existing
    limbs.
    With very little variation, regardless
of the number of hours in a day – six
weeks after being planted as a
seedling this resinous little gem will
    begin to flourish with flower.
    Because of their genome these
plants will tend to be very
consistent in size and yield, not
    extremely tall, not extremely small.
But all packed with dense, sticky,
    resinous buds .
Dissimilar to ruderalis based autos –
    Iranian autoflowers can be cloned
and kept for an extended period of
    time…particularly with the help of
the right light fixtures, 24 hours of
light with a high concentration of
blue wavelengths, like MH or T5
    lamps. Many experienced marijuana
cultivators find it is the best
    outdoor strain they've ever grown
and will grow only Iranian auto
    flower even with non-auto choices
    around.
Over the years I have heard
    experienced cultivators make the
    somewhat questionable claim “once
you try this plant you will always
want to grow it." While it's 'obvious
upside' is not having to guess
whether or not the seed you’ve
planted will go male on you, the
downside is that some of these
    autoflowers love to go hermaphrodite
    at the least opportune time.
The nice thing about Iranian auto
flower – as is true with any auto
flower, is that it gives everyone the
ability to control the timing of their
    harvest without sacrificing yield and
potency, as such the auto flower in
general could be one of the more
    important cannabis strains
    developed over the past several
    decades. Tested in various locations
over several years this strain has
    cultivated a strong following for
producing an early harvest with a
    potent yield.
    Long before the pesky helicopters
    are buzzing about overhead like
    flying rats, before the neighborhood
    thieves, trusted friends or anyone
else can get to your precious buds.
    These sticky refugees from the
Middle East will be snuggled up in
your nice warm drying room, waiting
for the moment to become that
    simple hit of mind relaxing
    medication.

I think 3 months max outside is pretty short for any strain.

I would advise going for a well known strain that has the shortest flowering period possible.

How can it be classed as an auto if you can keep it in veg and take clones?

If it flowers without needing 12/12 it's an auto, presumably this strain starts flowering once it reaches a certain height or age - although the fact it tends to hermie would dissuade me from topping or cloning it.

    Am I missing something then?

"Dissimilar to ruderalis based autos –

the right light fixtures, 24 hours of

How can you keep an auto flowering plant for extended periods...you'd have to reduce lighting to induce flowering...

Which suggests its not a true auto to me...

    Edit:

I have to agree talk of hermie traits in the breeders blurb would also put me right off

I think what they mean by "kept for an extended period" is that you can keep taking clones from the growing plant, unlike keeping a mother, you take your cuttings and can then take your next cutting from the clone doing away with the need for a plant that doesn't flower and die.

I could be wrong, hadn't heard of this strain before this thread, the above is just my take on the breeders blurb.

thanks to everyone who replied. i don't mind guarding against hermies, just roving narc's and rippers, insects etc.. in response to the 3 month season concerns, we have very long hot sunny days which helps make up for that. days are so long it seems like summer lasts
    forever.
as for short season its misleading as the days are so long and sunny its almost like setting your timer for 18/6. i'll let you know how it went next year.
