Arrow Adding soil to a pot with fully grown plant

I have two plants in flowering stage - over time, some of the soil in the pots has eroded from wind, rain, tipping over, etc. Would it hurt anything to add about 3 inches to the pots? I know some plants hate it (trees) and some love it (tomatoes), so just don't want to harm these ladies.

Does it have the same effect as repotting? I need to do it too I think.

You are right to be cautious, trees will suffocate if you put as little as 75mm soil on top.

Dont know TBH about Ganga, but the soil in our systems is more open and breatheable than under a 40yr old tree,. just make sure you get advice from people who have done it, and don t overdo it first time
