mate you can buy the channels like square guttering with tops that cover them... do a google for nft gully kit or parts, you will find what you are looking for..

And £70 is cheap for a system, not being funny mate but try growing 8-10 plants in 20l pots with coco run to waste, the coco cost you about 40 quid, then you are looking at a couiple of quid each pot and a bag of clay pebbles, and the amount of nutrients you go through is obscene... so for me, 70 quid is a cheap system.
