Hypothetical scenario
I go pick up my herb thats been drying at my friends I have no ID and no phone I'm on foot....
I get pinched on my way home but exercise my right to remain silent.
They take me to the station for fingerprinting to try and ID me but because of a chemical my fingerprints are unreadable they don't have my DNA on file and I still exercise my right to remain silent how can/can they bring charges on somebody if they don't know who they are?

I'm pretty sure your right to remain silent doesn't apply to name and address and the like btw, if you got smart about it they would just keep a hold of you one way or another, they most certainly wouldn't say, "well you've outsmarted us by crikey, on you go Mr no name' :P

You do have the right to remain silent but we've established that it will do no good.

You do not have to give your name and address if you are stopped, nor if you are stopped and searched.
But, if you are subsequently arrested or 'reported for an offence' then you do have to provide them.
