you make it sound like we live in a perfect world where power does not corrupt the uncoruptable, one thing the mp's must learn is to talk the talk and make you believe them, nothing changed for the better for us lower working classes when he was around, or any of the others, they stopped the slide a little inbetween the tories getting in, but they are all the same, if you believe different then they did a good job on you.

lol I'd agree in most cases with politicians because the image has been dragged through the mud but I can tell you as a matter of fact Tony helped many people and you only have to look at his career to see what drove him please don't confuse Tony with the new labour shower that got into power.

The comment about nobody remembering your granddad is retarded mate to be fair, if your granddad helped people I'm sure he will be remembered by those he helped.

I like to pay my respects to anybody I think helped people.

You see the problem with politics is were all so middle of the road, therefore the only politicians that get anywhere and appeal to the masses are that ones that compromise they're beliefs with public opinion and party politics so essentially we are breeding and encourage the career politician. we need people in politics because of what they believe not because its a good job.

If you didn't know Tony I wouldn't really expect you to give a Fuck but I would hope people would care. Genuine people are few and far between now days and Tony was one, he dedicated his life to helping people.

I know its hard to believe that good politicians exists but Ive had a long and pretty extensive view of politics in the region and I think the region has done well for politicians tbh particularly by the Labour party and I know there is also good cooperation at times between parties in the area between the good ones. I also know of times where parties have not even stood against certain politicians out of respect for the work they do. There's a clear divide in politics those driven by morals and those driven by ego/careers.

In regards to expenses I have no idea tbh but I don't begrudge anyone claiming for the housing etc of they need it but most did take the piss. Maybe making politics less paid would encourage more genuine politics? were heading more the American way though, its just a popularity competition

Yes i agree in some ways too m8. I was brought up with a right socialist Dad, he even took me picketing strikes when i was a real chabby on school holidays, flying picket style, i used to love it. Some say theirs no place for socialism in a modern world i think differently myself and it can work, but sadly most don`t these days and lots don`t understand thinking behind it, hence new Labour.
