This is a last throw of the dice for the plant, a chance to produce some seeds despite the lack of a male. The pollen from these male flowers can be collected, used to pollinate other plants, and will give rise to female seeds without the need to use other methods.
Just FYI, this was the way Dutch Passion originally discovered seed feminisation in the 90's. It was curiosity about these 'last gasp' male flowers that would appear on most female plants when left long enough. good luck
