Autoflower Mainlining Experiment

Hi all.

I told myself I wasn't going to start anymore seeds off 3 weeks or so already into a grow but as my over active stoned 4am mind couldn't rest I got an idea off a recent thread ' Autoflower Experiments '

This was mainly about LST and topping, but then I read a guide on mainlining either on here or on the net and was curious how a Autoflower would react to it.

Now those of you who know and understand how an Autoflower works, basically they have a pre mapped life cycle, they will only veg for 2 or 3 weeks and then begin flowering, regardless of light hours, because of their short life span and fast turn around people are usually reluctant to mess around with them, even basic LST methods. More and more people are now trying Autoflowers, and not only that but more are LST and topping them. Some would say not to top more than once as it will stun the plant, slow growth and cost you final yield as would any modification or change to the plant.

It will tell you the best plants are ones that generally would grow a main cola, with several side branches of smaller pop corn type buds. It also says Kush and Afghani varietys work well.

I then shared this link with Loki on the Autoflower Experiments thread and he also thought it would be a good idea to test a theory which is basically how much abuse can you give an autoflower and what will it end up like and final dry yield?

Mainlining involves topping several times, you also top the plant from the 3rd node so the plant would still be very young. I then remembered I had a spare Afghan Kush Ryder Auto seed and within a few minutes the seed is in a glass of water to give it a quick start. So im going to use that as a guinea pig as i have a space spare for it in the tent under the 600w HPS on 18/6 light hours.

I yielded 1.5oz dry last time off an Afghan under 12/12 hours 600w HPS so im setting that as an ' average ' target.

So this poor bugger is going to be topped a few times and bent about a bit !

Check it out ganja. I topped my jack herer auto and it's my favorite plant now. I only topped it once on accident and it's bushy and has more tops than the 2 I just LSTd. I read somewhere and it said some strains can be topped and some just can't. I believe this. Is you look ok in the very center you can see where it was topped.

Can you clone an auto?

Nope because they flower when theyre ready, so if you took a cutting at say 12 days old or so and planted it, it will begin flowering with a week or two so the results would be interesting.

This is still going not going to bother trying to mainline it won't have enough time, but ive topped it and then again before it flowers and remove the lower growth/popcorn crap and see what becomes of it. Looking a little pale will mix it up some calmag and grow tomorrow
