    Default Flu Jab??

    Hey peeps,

The company I work for have offered to give us flu jabs........being 25 and in pretty good health I am not really convinced I actually need one!

What do you think? Has anyone here ever had the flu jab before?

The director at my work went for one this morning. Apparently he goes every year.

I suppose its a good idea if you get ill easily. I've only ever had flu once so don't see the point.

Up until I actually got it I thought everyone just had a bad cold and was being soft. I now know its much more evil a virus than the common cold.
    Cheers Dru!!!

Yeah Green is right. It can't hurt so if you are being offered one then you have nothing to loose. Unless you have a major phobia too jabs then I'd say go for it.

But that still doesn't stop you from catching things.

You don't need them imo, they are mainly for the elderly or the more paranoid types, just back your body's defences to cope with anything the flu can chuck at ya !

The flu vaccine is actually a tiny amount of live virus that your body's own defences is forced to deal with thereby building up your own natural immunity to the real thing.

So actually you are still using your own defences that have been strenghtened by having been forced to react to the virus in your body.

some people do actually get mild flu symptoms as a result of the jab.

People that have had the real thing, not just a nasty cold will know how awful proper flu can be & pay not a small amount of money for the jab rather that risk getting another full blown episode ..

it's a killer, particularly in the elderly & young but also for people that have problems with their immume system or other conditions that would leave them more vunerable to an outbreak, people who are diabetic for example.

Whatever your own personal take on it, it could help save lives if a pukka flu outbreak did appear on our shores.

How sad would you be if yer old granny dropped down dead because she refused her free flu jab ?? ...

I check every single thing the doctor tells or prescribes & have thrown away prescriptions many times because i disagree with the medication or am not prepared to accept the side effects, but some people who are vunerable dont have that option, so there is no right or wrong answer, just personal preference.
