    Default The color YELLOW!

What's up everybody! Got a question... I know it's normal during vegetation for the lower leaves to yellow from the plant focusing energy on budding, but would the same thing occur post topping? Seems like a logical explanation... It's happened to my 5 week old. This is my 2nd grow in 2 years so I'm always a little too overprotective it's not really that bad. The first set of 3 leafed fans are dry and breaking, and the 2nd is a little yellowish, but nothing like the first. Anyone like to add their piece...

I'm not able to upload pics apparently. I need to have 10 or more posts before I can have that luxury. Seems odd...

Yellow leaves are not normal and even in the throughs of flower they are pretty much green on all of my grows unless there is an issue. Pictures will be nice.

They should remain green until mid flower, when the lower third, or lower half of the fan leaves will start to turn yellow as the buds leech the nutrients from the leaves. Pics speak a thousand words though

Actually Ganga my girls will pretty much stay green through till near the very end (last couple of weeks and thats only a few yellow ones), unless there is an issue. Perhaps I use higher amounts of nitrogen throughout, but I try to keep them green purposely. I do notice lots of plants turning amazingly yellow in pics and my outdoor ones did it but not so much in hydro. I also tend to take them down before most as well, never seeing amber. But yellow leaves in veg is a sign things are wrong.

Here she is now. 22 days into flower! The yellowing issue stopped. What I'm considering now is purchasing some HPS lights. I'm using 8 CFL's now and I've been told how poor their light penetration strength are. Anyway, here they are now

Doing a great job with cfl's! Yes HPS is better but hotter, and HPS plus MH is even better IMO.

if you can control the heat then defo get a hps, if you have managed to grow such beautiful plants using cfl then the sky is the limit using hps. if heat may be an issue maybe look into led. you are doing an incredible job mate.

p.s. I can see from that last pic you got a nice little man cave going on.

good luck with the rest of your grow.

The mancave unfortunately is an unfinished basement! But it works nicely. The only issue I'm running into now is the temp. It's cooler downstairs, 65 day and night. I was turning off the intake fan thinking maybe the lights would bump it up to 70 or so, but no luck. So I'm thinking if I can mount an HPS light up top, with the cool temps and all it might just even out ya know? Thoughts anyone?

mh and hps do run very hot so it may be worth it.
