I'll be picking one up this weekend then. Any suggestions? I've never looked at them before

I run two 400's and sometimes 600's and they basically heat the whole room. You will probaly need extraction to keep temos regulated and also may need to add heat to keep temps closer at lights off.

I highly recommend spending the extra it costs for a dimmable digital ballast. the beauty of these is you can run a 250w-1000w bulb, bulbs arnt expensive so you can start with a 250w-400w and if you can control temps work your way up to a 1000w if you wish.

Is there not s difference between switchable and dimmable ballasts, i have dimmable and it is for a specific wattage. I also have a switchable that yes is rated for either 400, 600, 1000. It was rather pricey compared to the dimmable ones. Did I get ripped lol?
