In case you care: £225 for 4 nights. Including breakfast. No kettle but apparently staff make you free hot drinks. A small room, no TV, and almost certainly a non-view (back of building not canal view), but is en suite and the location is fantastic too: the famous "nine streets" about 15 minutes south-west of Dam Square. The hotel's reviews are outstanding.

On most of the booking sites you can reserve a room now without having to pay for it, and you get free cancellation through their website unlike about two days beforehand. It's about £20 more to do that (total price not per night) but that's a lot of flexibility. And lets me save for the hotel over the next few months rather than struggle with it before Christmas.

So if you're kind-of "maybe" thinking about making the trip it might be worth looking at the booking sites and reserving a place sooner rather than later. It won't cost you anything to do so.

That's a great price for 4 days to say food is included! What website did you book through? I'm hoping to find a good bong shop there if anyone knows of one?
