How do people go about keeping there res temps down? It's not something I've ever really looked into.

Easiest way is coke bottle, have two per pot, fill with water as freeze them. Put one of the bottles in the res, it'll melt after a few hours of course, but you have 2 per bucket, so use the still frozen one, and re freeze the one that's melted.
A Chiller or putting ice packs in your Rez every day lol

I'm using a wilma 8 and I've never checked my temps of the res. Is this bad?

if your room is sitting around 25 then yes , its a must to keep tabs on temps , the warmer it is the less oxygen you,ll get , like said , the frozen bottle trick works daily or chiller but when they get bigger and drink litres a day then just top up daily with freezing water, works fine

My roots aren't in my res dude, so that shouldn't be an issue.
