    Hi I have a carbon filter free with some nutes I brought off somebody a long time ago how do u no if it's still good to use or is it not worth the risk ?

    If it came free with your nutes then it is questionable how good it is. You don't tend to get a £30/40+ freebie with a couple of bottles of nutes

    It was in a bundle of eBay but was buying it just for the nutes and was part of the deal I'll just leave it I think . Cheers for the advice tho .

    I heard you can wash the carbon with a hose or soak in water , let it dry and reuse it .
    No matter where you go , there you are .

    For me odor control is the absolute number one priority. I buy rhino filters and intend on changing yearly
    Its not worth the risk with cheap filters or trying to prolong their life.

    You can indeed, but it is a long, involved process & not really cost effective when the man hours are totaled up

    what long process you take the filter down , run a hose thru it and dry it out , re install in groom save money

    You have no way of telling how long it has been used for!
    I don't think washing it out is an option, the smell is something to do with the ions in the carbon not 100% on that but I'm pretty sure I'm in the ball park!
    You can replace the carbon, but that again isn't worth bothering about, just buy one and save your ass!

    Buy a new one and use this one you got for free. If it doesn't work you have a backup, if it does you have one for your next grow
