    Default EC for coco grow

    just curious......

I see a lot of people stating using a maximum of 1.2 EC during veg & bloom. others say 1.6-1.8

I use dutch pro coco nutes and they state a maximum of 2 during veg and 2.3 suring flower?????? what do I believe?im currently running mine at 1.4 and they can take that so will push it up to 1.6 next week and .1 every week after until I see the plants not liking tit then ill drop back

Whilst I have minimal experience in coco, that's the way I played it too

Don't forget that figure will include the BG Ec so everyone's over all Ec will be different.
My current grow has been pretty much 1.4 the entire time in flower and that's including BG of 0.8. Only increase the feed if the plants are telling you too.

U can go up higher there's a feeding routine called coco super charging wee prestie run it up to 3.2 but it does not give u any more imo that's why most stay lower at the 1.6 max in flower
In veg mines can be 3/4 ft tall n feed 0.8-1.0 ec

best thing to do is work with your plants needs, theres no set number, some strains like a heavy feed and some like weak feeds, same as face i never go over 1.6 , usually around 1.0 going into flower then up to 1.2 then the pk at different stages takes it up the rest

What do you give young seedling/newly rooted cuttings with a 0.8 bg mate

I start seeds off with distilled for around a week then add some A&B upto 0.3/ 0.4. After two weeks hit em with tap water.

EC in coco is a bit of a weird one in my personal opinion and can depend on many factors, there is no set EC or guide you can follow, that will be specific to the strain you are growing, and also to the light you are using.

If you are using a higher powered light, then your plant will do more photosynthesis, and will use up more of the nutrients within your feed, and will also deplete bio stimulants with in your feed.

Before when I was using a 450w LED I found I would keep the EC lower as the light wasn't as strong, but when I went to a full spectrum double ended HPS, the plants were a lot hungrier and required a higher EC.

My base EC is 0.5, and on my last grow with an LED I never went above an EC of 1.2. This grow under the HPS, and the same baseline, I am 2 weeks into flowering and already on an EC of 1.5, and can see me getting as high as 1.8.

You have to learn to read the plants and they will tell you if they are hungry, but in my experience the level of your EC will be dependent on your environment.

Only my thoughts, but hope they help
