Default Another newbee first time grower Coco fibre

Hi Guys, I am pretty much doing my first grow project and although I have bought and read some books on the subject cant really pin point the exact problem. There might by a combination of problems. I dont know.

    1) We are experiencing a heat wave where I live.
    2) I am growing wild mountain sativa seeds which I bought off ebay - lol, I know you are cringing now.
    3) I decided to grow them in Coco fibre or peat I think its called.
    4) I have been using Nutrifeed diluted at half strength
    5) I am using a cheap ph meter that reads 7, and As I understand it 6-6,5 is the range for coco fibre.
    6) The Nutrifeed diluted actually reads as acidic prior to pouring on to the plants.
    7) lighting is 4*36W fluorescent tube cool white on 16/8 cycle.

5.8 is where you want the PH to be, at a PH of 7 you will have issues....

Hi and welcome to the best forum ever, I'm a soil grower, so I'm not gonna be able to help - I do know your pH should be 5.8 and you should also have an ec pen to tell how strong or how weak your feeding solution is,

I'm a soil grower but with coco, if the PH is out, then all sorts of odd results are thrown out. Getting the PH back into the zone is the first step & then we can tell what is really happening

    Hey guys,

I started watering with some drops of lemon juice to get the PH right and the problem went away. YAY!

was just wondering if you could help me sed these plants, they have been in 12/12 for week and 2 days and I thought I knew whats sex they are but I now realise I have no clue. Not even sure if they are showing any signs of sex. Have I initiated flowering too early? The plants were 5 weeks old when I started and they were more than 30 cm tall.
