Cool OG Kush LED Mini grow using 90W LED mentored by KBag

    Welcome to my Mini grow.

I have received a provisional offer from KBag to mentor this grow, however, as he has not grown in a small space, offers for a different mentor will be considered, this is also a condition that KBag has given and is happy with.

    MEDIUM: Coco.

NUTRIENTS: I have the full stack of Canna nutrients:

    Canna Coco version A
    Canna Coco version B
    Canna Boost accelerator
    Canna PK 13/14
    Canna Rhizotonic
    Canna Cannazym

MINI GROW BOX: A converted Ikea set of draws measuring H:90cm W:75cm D:41cm, this includes the feet. Internal space is 61x54x35 cm, which is excluding the extraction system and light. The light used is a 90w Prakasa LED, also there are about 3m of strip-LED lights around the inside, although these are quite low intensity compared with the main LED.

For the air intake, some PVC plug fit pipe was used in a U configuration, which works well to block out the light exiting the unit via the intake.

The extraction & filtration system is a retain carbon filter with cover which slots into a small housing at the back and supported by some taught wires. The housing diverts flow through to the fan setup, which is encased in a cardboard construct. The fans used are 4x 120mm arctic pc fans, 2 of which are counter-rotating and placed in-line with the standard rotation fans, this is develops a higher static pressure, which is enough to pull air through the carbon filter. The air is then sent out of the cabinet through a duct at the base edge of the unit and out of the side.

Currently, the intake tubing and ventilation duct are not installed, so there is some light leakage from the intake, this will be remedied soon.

There are 2 sets of timers for the system, one for the lights and one for the ventilation fans. As the unit tends to stay quite cool and is generally very quite (quiter than my pc!) these will generally be on 24/7.

PLANT: Dinafem feminised OG Kush. This was a free seed that I received and has been kicking around for about 2 years, safely tucked away and I recently found it. I planted it in a rooting block and it has started to grow, even after being stored for 2 years!!!

POTS: I have a full selection of pots, both circular and rectangular.

    Things that I don't have:
PK testing, although I do know how to make ph paper with some red cabbage!!!
    PK modifiers.

Here are some pictures of the setup

I am well happy with that Craig at least we will get the show on the road and all the way if it happens to be.

I have just re-potted the sapling with coco as I was concerned that the roots were showing and exposed to the light.

Things that I need to do:
    Buy EC & PH pen
    Buy PH down
Cover cabinet door with reflactive silver mylar sheet
Modify scrog - make 4cm rectangular wire grid.
Re-attach intake tubing & exhaust duct.
    Maybe fix the LED strips.

Transplant seems successful, the plant is growing nicely, although it's developed some strange leaf shape in the last couple of days, but despite this, it's still good.

I'm just feeding it water at the moment, no nutes yet. I water it from the base, not the top with enough water that it stops soaking it up.

Ok Craig first thing is to stop feeding/watering from the bottom. First thing to do is to get the EC & PH of your tap water and let me know what it is. Put a couple of litre's of water in a container and allow it to stand for 24 hrs to de-gas and raise the temperature to room temp, You do not want the water to cold. Take 500ml of the water and add 1ml of rhizotonic give a good stir stand for 10 minutes then add ph down give another good stir to get you to a ph of 5.8. You will not need a lot of ph down just a drop or 2 so be careful not add to much.
What we are aiming to do is find out the EC and PH of the run off, so slowly pour the feed into pot making sure you wet all the coco. Making sure you get a good run off then measure the run off EC & PH and post results please.

Rested water after 24 hours at room temp.
    Ph 7.5
    EC 533
    Temp 19.4

I cocked up adding the Ph down resulting in a Ph of 3, which is by far too low. I will re-conduct this with a fresh sample of water and dilute the Ph down before I add it, so that I can be more accurate.

Your soon get the hang of it, if ever you go that low just dump it and start again. The 533 im guessing is ppm, what EC pen did you get mate? Pm me a link to it so i can take a look.
