A light feed soil is a must imo
Let's you get in control of the feed much quicker
Than a heavy fed soil.heavy fed soil can cause you problems
From the off an be very hard to rectify any problems.

I use verve as above, great soil an keeps them very healthy
Till the food wares thin then you are in control of wot they get
An if carful with good nutes your onto a winner.

Best thing to go with soil is old timers grow and bloom.
Very simple to use and give great results.

Have a look at the bonsai exo bition under the big ERBURT

Depends on what type of grow really, I hardly ever feed my plants and never ph get great yields. But depends if you want to mess around with expensive nutes and Ph.
