    Default Keeping Mother

    hi ya all,

Great site, info on here is spot on, thanks to all you posters i have used it to:
    Build a small grow room

    prop some seeds
decide on a small hydro system (nft)
    lights (hps 600)
    extractor
    sex the plants

i now have plants that are 2ft high and in second week of flower, they are looking good, i cant post a pic as the ballast from the light is messing with my camera ( and guess what? if i switch it off its really dark in there )

any way i have a couple of questions. is there a sticky on here telling us how to keep a mother plant? i have looked but maybe its there and i cant see

and m cf readings keep rising is this because my plants are taking more water than food? i plan to replace water ph adjust and leave for 24 hrs then add nutes (ionic) is this correct?

    once again thanks guys

gonna post this in hydro section also hope thats ok

As an alternative to keeping mothers, you could always take cuts 2 weeks before flowering. Veg the cuts while the doner plants flower, come harvest time you have fully rooted cuts that are ready to go straight in the flower room.

The same way you would find a decent mother plant.

You can either veg the plant long enough so that it reaches sexual maturity and starts to produce pre-flowers, then take your cuts.

Or you can flip them to 12/12, keep a very close eye on them, when they first start to show sex, out the males, keep the females, revert the light back to veg, take your cuts, give the doner plants a week or two to recover then flip them back to 12/12.

Or flower the plants 2 plants you have, choose which one performed the best, then after you harvest, re-veg it....then take your cuts.

    Plenty of options.
