Default How long can you keep pollinating male alive?

Hello Everyone! This has been on my mind for a while so I thought why not ask.
What is the longest you kept a CS reversed male alive? The longest I was able to keep a reversed auto was only about 15 weeks after initiation of flowering. He died from bud/pollen sack rot.
    What do you think?

Have you tried re vegging males before after they pollinate females? I don't really know much about males or breeding but I'd think a vegetating plant would last longer than a flowering plant.

I have not tried re vegging! I may give that a try next time. Your probably right about them living longer, wish it would work on autos too. Thanks

Ive been a pollinating male for about 25 years now and still going strong. Sad to hear your male died from pollen sack rot, hope i dont get that.

Never bothered to re-vege but CS gets good results. Usually use CS on females so never tried CS on a male plant. I am following this post correctly? Usually allow the CS'd female/hermi to develop a few flowers and then remove it. I put the flowers in a freezer bag and freeze them. Then I just tie the bag around a bud leave it overnight remove the bag and presto, feminized(ish) seed. Interesting project for long term breeding. I'd imagine a photo could be re-veged for quite some time. I've heard of breeding plants being kept for years but never had any first hand experience.

Sorry for the confusion, I was referring to CS sprayed females. I guess you may be right. It could be easier just to save pollen rather than trying to keep the plant alive for such a long time. Thank you
