Being in the curtain and blind trade does have some perks. I'll bring home some different fabric and see what happens. 😆
    Cheers guys!

I thought you might give it a try that big one I bought pre-made just has foam and hardware cloth no fiberglass really quiets things down good.

OK guys, again thanks for your hints and tips on my noise issue.

I've been reading up on silencing today (between jobs) so I feel like I know the rudiments of the job.

I have a 150mm cardboard tube that will slide inside my 150mm aluminium ducting with sound proof foam sandwiched in between the two. I will then line the cardboard tube with either 1 or 2 layers of sound proof foam. Then a layer of cellular quilting then a layer of hardware cloth (which I now know is flexible wire mesh with half inch squares).

I've got a few diagrams that I'm going to follow, one of which also has something called a sound bullet inside, which I will also attempt to do. Here's the pics that I'll be using.

I'm off the my local hardware shop to buy the mesh which is £6 for a square meter all the other bits I already have in my wonder shed. Lol

I will try and log this build in stages so others can follow instructions and build 1 in the future. I'll be starting about 7 tonight so keep your eyes peeled😆
