Default Answered: Auto starting to flower after only 2 weeks

I'm an outside grower of many years. I bought my first auto seeds just to try and see how big they would get while growing outdoors. I bought some Red Poison auto by Sweet Seeds. They are suppose to start flowering 8 weeks after germination. I started one inside for a week until it got about 10 inches tall and looked ready to be put outside. I planted it outside and it's taking off pretty good, (BUT) it's already going into the flowering stage and it's only 2 weeks old.
I live out in NJ where normal photoperiod strains don't flower until Sept/Oct and it's in the sun 90% of the day.
Any ideas why it's going into flower so soon?

The whole grow is supposed to be 8 weeks mate

Typically autos start to flower in 2-4 weeks

It's advertised as 8 weeks from seed. Reading one person's grow, 10 weeks is more accurate.

When I grew Red Poison it was an 11 week grow & TBH could have done with a little longer but I had ran out of time

I grew a White Skunk Auto once, went out to top her, and she had already had white hairs, and just 17 days. The longest one for me was 29 days before flower, it was an Auto OG Kush. Different one's flower at different times, like MC said.

I've got autos going. One is at day 42 and NO flowers. Nothing. Yet the other ones have flowers. Nice starting ones too.

Here is the one not doing a thing

Guess it's just down to individual seeds

Yeah, I just went back and read the info. It states 8 weeks from germination to harvest. That really stinks, I wanted to top it a couple times to turn it into a bush, looks like I'm stuck with one main cola. Thanks for all your feedback.

So how did they turn out, did you actually get some red phenos? Now that I know that autos go into flower immediately I'll never buy them again. I have pollen stored away from other strains so I'll pollinate this red poison plant. I'm then going to cross it back with the remaining red poison seeds. Hopefully, I'll be able to knock the auto factor out of it with the first cross and still be able to bring back the red with the future cross backs.

They were a bit disappointing TBH One had a red hue, the other didn't do much either -It wasn't a good result for me but others have had some promising results from these seeds
