Roy Hodgson resigned as England manager after his side's 2-1 defeat by Iceland saw them knocked out of Euro 2016.

It was lack luster players rather than a manager issue IMHO - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36646946

Vardy didn't start because the Icelandic team defend on the edge of their penalty area, therefore no chance to spring him in behind, which is his forte, what we needed were guys who could take 'em on one on one & go past 'em, hence the obsession with Sterling & Strurridge, right idea wrong guys, should have been Rashford on from the start and Milner out wide, at least then there'd have been some steel in the middle of the park, with someone who can deliver a decent cross, why our centre forward was taking free kicks from 40 yards out totally eludes me. Hodgeson decided to play safe, set 'em up wrong and it cost us dear. No progress made since the years of Gazza & Shearer under venables in the 90's, English football needs a re-boot.
