This is a US ballast, says on the cable 13amps 120/240v.
What do adaptor do I need to use this in the UK problem free? would a standard C13 computer cable work?

A standard computer cable is fine but check the fuse in the plug first to make sure it's up to the job

In theory, a 3 amp is sufficient but I think I would go with 5 amp just to be sure - but I am no expert on these things, I would check elsewhere first...

Non as long as it's the correct gauge of wire capable of carrying 13 amps...
