    Default HELP!!! Big Problem...

    Hi Guys
I woke up this morning to find that my grow light has broken :/ it will be about a week until my replacement is delivered.

the plants have only been in the tent about a week, so are very young, about 1-3 inches tall.

what is the best thing I can do to keep them alive until my new lights arrive? Or will I have to start again from scratch?

Thanks in advance... peace and pot!

If you've no light at all then your only option is to put them on a windowsill or outside in the sun during the day..They may stretch a little but it saves starting from scratch when the light arrives

Why a week ? can't you just go to a grow shop and buy one. Failing that stick them on a window sill or outside in a sunny position you will be fine

And welcome to the forum mate.

    Regards BL

My ballast failed a few month back & it took a couple of weeks to sort (it was an Ebay purchase). Whilst I could have just went & bought a new one from the local grow shop the next day, it would then mean I had 2 that I'd paid for.

Luckily enough I still had my old ballast so it wasn't really an issue....

However, I still ended up with an extra ballast as, during the time the ballast was being exchanged, I realised that the ballast I had was far more than my needs, so I bought another one with much lower wattage (a 250/400/600/SL to a 150/175/250/SL) and am currently running at 175w rather than the 600w I was originally aiming at

They are that young that it will be no major issue at all - but I can understand you stressing yourself about it... worst possible problem? Lack of sunshine & they start to get 'leggy' (they're not autos, are they?) but that can be easily dealt with

It wasn't an Omega ballast, was it?

Maxibright or lumatek are the most reputable brands...
